You Gorenjci can talk. I need a good two hours to Vrata or Pokljuka (from Brežice). If I go alone, still doable in one day, if more of us, tough. And lately I sleep too much to wake at four and start at seven. Four hours up is tiring for a flatlander too. Leisurely it's nice for two days - despite catastrophic toilets, crowds and prices in huts around Triglav.

Been to Triglav many times but never July or August. Ideal September and October. Weather stable, food and drink from backpack, sleep in winter room.

We four were there on Thursday. Slept at Staničev dom. And in the morning to the top. No crowds. Maybe cos mid-week. Really nice.

Regarding the path to Triglav, I'm interested where I could get as close as possible to it and admire it from afar? Neither fitness nor will bothers me, but I have a fear of precipices. So just nicely, safely approach, enjoy the view of it?

Jahtba, the most magnificent in my opinion is the feeling at Kredarica, to which several paths without precipices lead, the easiest from Krma.

for me the nicest view of Triglav is from Bovški Gamsovec (or rather from the path from Luknja to B. Gamsovec). From there we see its left profile. Its right profile is most beautifully (and closest) visible from Begunjski vrh. From both mentioned peaks besides Triglav itself you can admire very closely also its magnificent north face.

@zebdi: I agree, my husband and I also practice one-day hikes to the summit, getting up at 3am and two hours drive to Vrata... but the opinion about a two-day tour was meant for bolhica and her original question, which she then radically changed.

Tof did that over 30+ years ago and has stated multiple times that he regrets the stupidities he did in the previous system when there was no awareness yet.
And you don't need to start any male chauvinism here and compare dragging a moped to Triglav with the hike of 100 women!!!!!!!!!!! All reach the top on their own, without dragging and your spy tables
