I wouldn't want to argue but I fear this girl won't want mountains anymore.

or contrary-born mountaineer

Given it was said hard to ascend summit in one day-I think this post said enough and broke doubts.
Congrats

Hi,

Personally I'd wait another year or two sure before going to symbol of Slovenian mountaineering. 7 years too early for me though I was up at 9 myself.

Friday we plan one-day tour too wonder if others plan due to weather etc?

Thanks, lp

@Kenzu - Friday weather.
Bergfex quite reliable and foreca.com also good currently show weather ok. Maybe afternoon some light rain but nothing serious. We'll see. Thursday worse so not hopeless.
So I'd prepare and follow forecasts mežikanje

I was there on Friday and the Italian Ilmeteo showed the most accurate weather, exactly to the hour it turned out according to the forecasts. It was almost too hot, and I was at the summit at half eleven. At the summit fog often arrives and departs. It depends on how fast you walk and escape unpleasant clouds.

I'm more worried than for this girl for some other whose father read this post and thought that his could go up too, even though maybe she had been to Šmarna gora only 2 times before.

Children with the proper approach, protection, and safeguarding are capable of many things. In this case they are urging us on, not us them, as some mistakenly think.
Everyone is of course responsible for their own child and cannot excuse themselves with examples published online.
It is true though that such tours in "our modern era" will soon be science fiction.

Jbs, congratulations to the little daughter and of course also to dad for such a feat. Ahead of such a young mountaineer there are really many mountaineering feats.
Redbull, again you've proven yourself a top visionary. Despite the doubters, you've shown you master the field of Esoterics.

dprapr - true. I went to Triglav at 8 years old, in one day (from Pokljuka), and then for several years I tugged dad's sleeve to take me to Mont Blanc ... Of course he didn't listen ...
But before Triglav we had hiked quite a lot.

Lijaneja, no worries, she was very happy to have succeeded. Of course it wasn't her first time in high mountains, let alone hills. She was even at Kredarica last year "on a visit" on Velk Šmaren, so the path from Krma was already familiar. As a family we go to various hills every weekend, in all conditions, at least to Krim (which, by the way, the youngest 4-year-old conquers from Iška without strain in 1.5 hours). For example we met you this year with son and middle daughter on Ciprnik in March on skis. Kids enjoy it and build character, since effort and perseverance are needed for satisfaction. If it's a lifestyle, no issues with fitness or persistence, both become natural.

Maybe some change in weather? Doesn't look best, local rains and thunderstorms coming.

As for 1 day - Triglav. I had dilemma too, we have 2 in group who haven't been, but from Krma and early enough, they'll go ahead....think no problems.

And another praise for hribi.net forum, always check conditions when heading out, very up-to-date, not just for Triglav! Comments excellent too

'jbs', in this case congrats from me too. Of course your case is more exception than rule. This year taking granddaughter up. Fearing she'd be bored with grandpa, her friend comes too and success almost guaranteed.nasmeh
Wish you many happy and satisfying mountain feats.

From Rudno polje (parking 5€) to Konjščica then unmarked path to Plesišče under Viševnik. Over the summit and Srenjski preval to Vodnikov dom. Overnight and today past Planika to summit. nasmeh
Descended under Tosc to Uskovnica then road to Rudno polje. zavijanje z očmi
Path above Konjščica to Plesišče quite overgrown, not much used. Path via Čiprije to Uskovnica renovated, gully crossings mostly easy...but not quite.mežikanje

This is good news that they've renovated the path to Uskovnica. Can you define "not entirely easy" a bit more?

garmont25. 07. 2018 22:08:16
Sure. One gully still hard to cross. Scree and slip risk. Path narrow and mostly exposed, so can't afford a slip.

Oh no, still not for me...scree and slipping risk...that's the worst for mezadrega. Thanks!

Saturday start 5:30, krma, planika - triglav - planika - krma, in valley at 16.00. But physically poorly prepared, so had some trouble with cramps, but both who were first time had no problems.
Weather super, except cloudy at the top.
