To Triglav?

Why would you drive to Planina Konjščica??
But someone nicely wrote how far you can "farthest" drive or park - from the end of the asphalt road at Rudno polje and then on the gravel to the end, park there if you're lucky.

Our eager ten-year-old wanted to see what the summit looks like without the Aljaž Tower. His father, in line with the proverb of our southern neighbors "Hard to drive a frog into water", didn't hesitate long. On Wednesday, 26.9., we were at the top. We slept at Planika, up via Triglav Notch, down via Mali Triglav.
The concrete ring is already prepared. Unfortunately, two Poles 'messed it up' right away up there. But this fact has at least the pleasant consequence that it's recorded when the concrete slab was made (19.9.; see photo).
The mountain was pleasantly empty, dominated by foreigners. Planika operates only this weekend (until 1.10.) - hurry! Larches are still green, but there's some yellow streak (see photo). Autumn atmosphere provided by the cool, ideal for hiking.

Yesterday visited Triglav again. Ascent via Plemenice, descent via Kredarica and along Tominškova. Weather was perfect, not too cold, not too hot, whole day without a cloud, view all the way to the sea...Not many people on the path, just a bit more at the summit. All huts apparently occupied by Czechs and Hungarians, because they had a holiday yesterday...even in Aljažev dom there were tons..

Along the first ascenders' path - "Can't go higher"
On the occasion of this year's 240th anniversary of the first ascent to Triglav, the second hike along the first ascenders' paths was organized on the initiative of Martin Šolar. On 28.9.2018, 25 hikers and 5 Bohinj guides-rescuers gathered, who safely led us along the first ascenders' path (starting point: village Savica). A special summit experience was the baptism of Bohinec wine, performed by the wine queen. In the entire two-day hike we covered 2,853 m of elevation gain along the path. Pictures show glimpses from the tour, interesting facts can also be read at: https://www.dnevnik.si/sport/planinstvo

PZS says the hut at Dolič is already closed. Planika hut is also closed, @Peter Pehani wrote that a bit higher up.
No big deal, now it'll be even nicer to go to the mountains, since lots have closed for some peace.

Yesterday in beautiful weather we did Krma - Kurica - Konjsko sedlo - Planika - Gorjanska pot - Triglav - Kredarica - Krma.
Some small snow from Kurica to Planika, no issues, at Gorjanska pot entrance more, in route little, same from notch to top, but shady side icy. Descent to Mali Triglav snow ok, but path to Kredarica icy in places.
Aljaž back to summit and provided beautiful views all aroundsmile.

Pic 38 - that pilot must be very good! smile Incredibly fast does landings and takeoffs between Rudno polje and Kredarica. If feeling not wrong (i.e. last Wed), for return less than 15 min (in time took and dropped cargo).eek

Yesterday I went to check out the Aljaž Tower after the renovation. Start not too early from Rudno polje - along the road for warming up to Planina Konjščica - Studorski preval - Vodnikov dom - Planika - Mali Triglav - Triglav and back the same way. Weather just like you experience it in real autumn weather. Views very good - to Pohorje and Gulf of Trieste. The path towards Planika is quite torn upjezikPlanika closed, which means fewer people on the ridge and summit. Some snow on the path, basically nothing problematic, be careful when you step with a wet sole on rock so it doesn't slip. Some dry snow on Mali Triglav and then some icy trampled patches here and there on the northern part of the path over the ridge. Insurance perfect. On the summit light wind and no crowds. They fixed up the tower very nicely and I hope all visitors will treat it well. It's a couple of centimeters higher, because I could stand upright inside comfortably. Windows also nicely arranged.
The sun is already waiting for me - Konjščica.1
