Nice greeting, how is the path Krma Valley - Triglav (via Planika and Mali Triglav)? Is winter gear still needed? Thanks a lot! :-)

Look back a bit on the page, already on first of July it was normally passable, unless something snowed last night

Hey, is Tominškova path now finally passable without winter gear? Thanks a lot for the answer

Hi Patricij, we were on Tominškova on Wed, there's still quite a lot of snow in one gully (the gully with a 'ladder' made of clamps). Traversing it is not that dangerous, but entering from the rock onto snow (and then down from snow to the rock) might be dangerous because the snow is some 70 cm above the ground (there are steps carved up in it).

They are beautiful and there are already many of them around the huts.

Tominškova/view on snowfield (20.07.19) No problem over the snow, on the other side there are pegs and cable. In a day or two it will be harder, because the snow is melting and you'll need to climb onto it. Possible via red too, but you'll need to climb a bit. In a week probably no snow anymore.

I'm interested in the difference between the paths from Krma to Triglav via Planika or Kredarica. It says both paths are the same length. Going to Triglav for the first time, have experience with quite some high mountains, and basics of self-belaying with full kit. Heard that the one via Planika is less exposed and less crowded. Is that true? Are the huts comparable for overnight stays? Thanks for the help!

Hi! Path via Planika is slightly shorter and also slightly easier than via Kredarica (if e.g. comparing length and difficulty from Konjsko sedlo to M. Triglav; there both paths join), slope and exposure smaller. Easiest combo is up and down via Planika. If wanting both paths, up via Kredarica and down via Planika. Re huts: Planika bit smaller hence maybe more "intimate". Both need advance booking almost mandatory. lpp
