Today nice loop to Triglav from Aljažev dom in Vrata. Up via Plemenice. Descent to Kredarica and via Prag to start. Path requires decent fitness and focus. Lower part safety renewed. Upper Plemenice one peg pulled but no issue for ascent.

Nice mountaineering regards.

Maybe someone knows if on path from Krma to Planika can refill water somewhere. At what altitude (or after how much time)?

At the end of Malga Polja and above Prgarca a bit before the turn to Kurica there are troughs with water. Small trickle of water flowed into both when I passed a month ago.nasmeh

On the last July evening we set off from Krnica to watch the sunrise on our highest peak. For the ascent from Planika we chose the path Through Škrbina, descended via Mali Triglav. You can watch a short video and detailed route description on the link: Sunrise on Triglav, 1.8.2020

Safe steps in the mountains and best regards, Mirko

From the barrier in Krma to Prgarica there are three troughs with running water.
Checked two days ago. Drank from all three!

Today on Triglav me and half of Slovenia nasmeh Good thing I went back via Škrbina, no crowds there... Don't get where this folk sleeps? And where they eat? Because at Planika I barely secured one of the three tables available. mežikanje

You counted wrong. With you there was only 1/3 of Slovenia. On Friday the other 2/3. At half past six there were as many cars parked in Krma as in Ljubljana before some holiday in front of big shopping centers.
At Planika people like ants. On the path from Planika to the top, standing queue. Same on Gorjanska path.
Friend who arrived at Planika when we did from Triglav said he spent 5 (five) hours for the trip from Planika to Triglav and back.
Another acquaintance vividly described the ascent. Stood in place for half an hour, then made a few steps and stood again. At the top pushing for the stamp. So the mountains don't disgust me for the rest of my life, the decision to return to the valley was very quick.
Based on what was seen meeting visitors (these are not mountaineers, not alpinists, not hillwalkers), I think, or rather I'm convinced, rescue should be paid. GRZS drives to Jesenice all day because of two reasons:
- exhaustion
- sprained ankle
People for God's sake, come to your senses. Mountains are not something fashionable, they are a way of life.

I think it's fine that Slovenes (and before corona also foreigners) want to go to Triglav. More visitors means of course more work for mountain rescuers, but also more money. I paid 14 eur for goulash. OK. I give gladly, but I expect PZS to arrange toilets properly with all cleaning facilities needed for smooth operation of huts in high mountains. And no need to wait for EU funds for trail repairs. The federation itself can provide those few bucks for materials.

Hribolaznik, all this is the result of successful action by all authorities. Slovenian mountains are so popularized that everyone who thinks something of themselves must go to Triglav at least once in life. More visits, more business, more euros. Goulash for 14 eur was surely very tasty and large portion, not to mention drinks. In the end we're all satisfied and business goes on. In short, healthy spirit in healthy body. nasmeh

Many wish to conquer Triglav, some succeed, many don't. On Tuesday 25.8.2020 we went with guide Alenka, total 16. From Pokljuka to Studorski pass to Vodnik hut. Part of the group went to Kredarica, others in two groups to Planika. Weather pleasant, path known, no peculiarities. On the way we met some acquaintances, all with the same wish that Triglav succeeds for us. To the group of retirees a couple of girls joined. Guide Alenka is extremely caring, helped everyone to safely conquer the goal and return healthy to the valley. Arrival to Planika is great success, as even spry Dolfi at 78 has some health issues. For summit conquest proper physical and mental preparation is needed, legs, heart, lungs and head must work, all. Even some youngsters admitted the path is harder than they thought. But with a little encouragement they pushed and happily conquered the top. At the top we were really happy, each pondering their story. Dragica was back on Triglav after 44 years, I first time exactly on that day 35 years ago. Our colleague was first time on Triglav this time, what was his joy....
From Planika there are somewhat fewer fixed ropes, while from Kredarica there are really fixed ropes everywhere, even where there used to be only pegs. Food and service at Planika good, youth well organized. Only remark is the unarranged toilets. How is it arranged at Vodnik hut, but not at Planika?
Thanks from all of us to Alenka for care, organization, safe guiding. She enabled us Triglav conquest and unforgettable experiences.

Congratulations to all, especially the young at heart. The sparkles in the eyes and the smile on the face in mature years are different, more sincere. It says it all, that you're not yet for the scrap heap and can make it to Daddy, our pride. Of course, without mental and fitness preparation it doesn't work. There are too many rescues of the weakened on mountain paths. Once again, BRAVO retirees...nasmehnasmehnasmeh

I'm wondering if they've updated anything at Planika yet, or still pull tea from the kitchen
one by one.
This hut should have been closed long ago. All my experiences connected with it are very bad.
Safe steps to all.
