Solitary peaks where you rarely meet anyone, if you do you're surprised? But they draw you back.nasmeh

There are even such solitary ones that even in July and August you feel lonely on them if not used to solitude velik nasmeh

Nice regards redbull. Saw you from Viševnik. Probably your lights. I also planned Triglav but changed mind at last moment because forecast not great.
Triglav was in fog before sunrise, same Rjavina, but cleared at 6:30. At 7:00 sun came out. Sunrise not perfect but nice anyway. On Viševnik
about 10 cm snow. Noticeable difference from last week re mountain visits lol ... Ice axes probably not needed yet? What time on summit?
At 7:10 headed back to Pokljuka, all clear, see you were in fog on top ... Good training anyway if wading to knees ...

hi
Lights probably not ours, two early ones turned back just above Planika. We met them. On summit around 9.30. For those from Gorenjska no problem to be on top at 7.00, some of us have to drive there first, don't feel like getting up earlymežikanje
thanks, good luck

@redbull, when is it earlyvelik nasmeh at 3am? If you're on top at 10 that's already a pretty good time, earlier is even bettervelik nasmeh

True, too early an hour doesn't appeal to me much either .... got up at 2:00. Since Saturday wasn't a workday it was easy to get up, otherwise it can be tiring ... Lights really weren't yours, as they were just before dawn over horse saddle ...

Yesterday's Triglav:

Nice weather, around noon it started clouding over. Almost all fixed ropes out, so south snow wasn't big problem.

Anyone up there today? Is snow very wet? How much? Any track made yet (from Krma, past Kredarica)?

Krma-Kredarica-summit (16.02.21)

Parking like all this winter in chicken village. Slippery on road, track made day before by known guy. Crampons to Kredarica handy. Conditions more than excellent. Due to snow last week under sirocco I expected windcrust base and yes. Great base, last two years don't remember since we usually first track such good base. Snow bit more than usual previous ascents. Tower under snow, flag just peeks. Descent slowly to valley. Skied summer variant. Base just right to ski back to parking.

After such tragic accident as Saturday, some still "dare" challenge fate and even post it. Don't you care about others at all, except fulfilling own narcissistic desires?

Interesting, I really don't know where meteorologists get 4 meters of snow from, because it doesn't look like it to me.

Especially in spring, when they say there's still 1 meter of snow, the path is practically bare, all the snow is in that pit before the hut.

Wind from peaks and ridges blows snow away so height there not relevant. I think they have exact points less susceptible to natural influences where snow cover is measured.

This time: bravo Dejan, that's how you report on a tour and big GOOD LUCK ahead, wherever you go and of course, always use your past experiences before the ascent.

To expect that now because of this accident we'll all stay home on couches in front of TV, is utopia. Personally I'm not capable of such winter endeavors as Dejan posts, because I lack fitness, plus I'm scared for my own ass and it doesn't cross my mind to rush to Triglav in such conditions, since just one wrong step is enough to slide a couple 100 meters lower. I rather stick to lower hills and mountains, currently 1500 to 1700 m, and ones I know have no special dangers. When conditions improve, I'll go higher too. I admire Dejan that he manages it and dares. I assume they previously checked conditions and chose the "safest" ascent route.
And also this, Zelenica was packed full over the weekend, despite wind and 3rd degree avalanche risk (hut of course open), and it's not so innocent either, since avalanche can come from Begunjščica or Plota. On the service road that's officially closed, they were sledding with a 3-year-old kid. And when the GRS guy warned them it's not safe, the dad snapped back he should shut up, what does he know. People sober up only when tragedy hits them personally, before not or some even then not.

ppegan - excellent, you wrote the last sentence very well. This applies so much to those super cool world-famous alpinists from the pics (16.2.2021).
