On Saturday 26.3 from Krma to Kredarica excellent. Probably because we walked from 3.00 to 7.00 in the morning...To the summit not so nice, it had warmed up too much. Critical across the ledge and a bit further on Mali Triglav. Up around 9 o'clock, back to Kredarica around 13 o'clock. Video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyEXRjQVITE

Road to "garages" passable and muddy, parking spaces today noticeably too few, but yesterday there was enough space. Ascent on skis from "garages" to Kredarica yesterday without peculiarities, except under Bukovje already here and there bare spots, through Bukovje also more or less snow-poor. Did a test, how it is if you go for blood donation in the morning, afternoon to Kredarica. I felt nothing, got up in three hours. Today early morning jumped to the Summit, conditions ideal. Then back to Kredarica, nice chat with Miha, meeting with Danica and Janez, then at 10.00 skiing past the toilets into the basin below Kredarica and along the summer path to "ulice", just right softened, half hour earlier would have been even better. Huge number still going up. From Pastirska, over Malo polje, then over Vrtaca and Ples hard (below Ples met "zvončnico" and her group), lower again softened snow, whatever is left. Yes spring has come to Krma too.

Even in the afternoon there were still crowds of climbers - tomorrow there will already be a crowd for the morning descent. I think I saw Igor during our ascent. That's how it is if you have your portraits everywhere.

A bit strange that most of you go to Triglav in winter, what bothers you the crowd in mid-summer when the path to the top is dry.

Probably it seems strange only to you. No hard feelings.

Yeah really strange, most of us go up in winter, crowds in summer ... Crowds or throng don't bother me, but "gužva" in the vocabulary does ... Igor, great pics, with soul we can watch only those to whom all this is given to experience.

@maiden Look at old photos/comments, almost 10 pages just winter 10/11, summer less photos/comments. Winter is also nice, summer too, all seasons are nice but nicest in summer in mountains, more paths, no serious gear, on the fly we can choose another path....

What about the view? In summer there's none, except after rain

Overall I'd say in winter there are even more paths and choices than in summer, because snow turns the fixed ropes of paths into a whole field of possible approaches. All this belongs in its own thread.

Conditions on paths in summer don't change much, except of course weather changes. In winter it's different and it's logical that there are more comments then. Anyway I wasn't at the summit yesterday, only to Triglav hut. Recommend early hour ascent, sun after 10 is already very strong.

in winter you have milerjev kamin, veseli tobogan, NW ridge, to škrbina... In summer everything crowded, they don't know anywhere else but Triglav... That's why in summer up rarely go, if then at 3h from Vrata In 2km radius more "my" peaks!

Hi, wonder if over weekend really over 100 overnights, as I saw in some talk. (if someone from visitors knows approx)? There are also many day-trippers.

In May Triglav had so far still lots of snow, but given this spring started bit earlier and temps abnormally high even high up for April, now 7 deg at Kredarica and snowline over 3000m and avg 10-15cm melting, hard to believe much left mid-May, but weather can change quick and probably will...

Snow patches definitely still there, at least on the approaches to Kredarica. Also some where crampons and ice axe will come in handy (Tominškova, Prag). Summit part can be dry. Don't wait for spring, don't wait for May . . .
