And another question - given all the reports of chaos at the pass, is it at least possible to drive across normally on the weekend at a normal time? Not to park, but just to go across?

We know what kind of road we drove on from Kranjska Gora towards Vršič and at the same time listened in the media to the Kranjska Gora mayors saying that nothing can be done. Interestingly, the road on the other side of the pass is smoothly asphalted - without potholes, has arranged shoulders, a line at the edge, mowed and mulched slopes etc. This year I haven't been there yet, maybe it's different now. Of course I wouldn't dare to judge who did what.

For now as before. But local sheriffs have already publicly announced that they will strive for Krma and Kot "same regime" as in Vrata.

Yeah well that's it, what does it mean that the starting point Kot no longer exists? Can you only get there by bike from Mojstrana? Where exactly were fines issued, either before the final parking lot by the road, or also in the parking lot at the end. That can't be read anywhere.

Parking in TNP is reliably safe only where there is the P sign. Everything else is risky. The last time I was in Kot it was still there... but such a thing can change quickly...

Update regarding Vršič. At the beginning of September the parking lot at the top will be finished with capacity for 80 cars (3 of them for disabled), plus 8 spots for parking up to 15 minutes, parking will still be free this year. At the same time in September the previously raised barriers will start operating and a system of separate entry lanes for transit and those who want to park up there.

I'm interested, and probably others too, whether the parking lots along the Vršič road will be marked with signs that parking is allowed. For example under Tonka's hut, at the Hut in the forest, at the Russian cross, Russian chapel, there are quite a few such places along the Vršič road and from them there are quite a few nice hiking tours. I'm also interested if the price list has already been determined.
