But hope remains that Maribor people also go to the mountains...I mean those who years ago showed how to deal with radars...cooljezik

Again whining, poor paupersvelik nasmeh car is a cost, parking fees belong to that too. If you have for car, you have for parking too, right? There are still enough free starting points, just not Vrata and Vršič and Bohinj..,where you get most likesvelik nasmeh

Radars?
That's why they fleece you, because you don't think with your own head.

Otherwise, in Maribor, under Pohorje, they have mainly arranged parking spaces, hotel and diligently cash in. The area around the pond is neglected for years. Easy parking they moved to the most distant parking lot. But it's worth walking a couple hundred meters further for 2 hours free parking.

On Soča there are three radars installed. Plave, Ročinj and now also in Žaga.

Jusk, you're probably a local and will get a lower price. At least that's how they practice now. For the Pohorje cable car, for example, Maribor residents pay 40% less. For a return ticket almost 44% less!
We're not bothered by parking fees that aren't exorbitant and above all equal for everyone. But it's not like that!

In the end there's no solution in wild parking on some gravel or blocking free trailheads, that should be clear to everyone.

Let's pour ourselves pure wine: the fact that some of us went to Vrata 15 times or more a year with our own car was also an anomaly and burden on parking lots and reason for current measures (when you multiply by a hundred or few hundred such individuals), even if perhaps smaller than the tourist rush in recent years.

Drago was saying a year or two ago "you pay parking in the city too". Here you go! Just what I've been warning about all along ...if they really cared about preserving nature they would limit the number of cars/visitors but not at the expense of high parking/entry fees but simply .. so many xy cars in the valley/pass is ok- pay something symbolic to maintain the system others public transport. But we've arrived exactly where I was yelling we'd sail to...we've turned the mountains into Disneyland...Fuck you up the ass Bohinjci, Kranjska Gora folks and Primorska side of the Alps. Me and many of you were lucky and hiked most for free.. and I'll keep hiking but always thinking I won't give you anything..or as little as possible. Not because I don't have money but just because you're greedy as eels.. (here Tadej-you can delete the comment).. We're just waiting for the Vršič tariff and surroundings..and of course additional restrictions on Pokljuka. Last one turn off the light. Think a bit and give your local area a fat thick spit.. Grab the toll if you go higher than Jesenice or turn to the Lesce/Bled highway exit.
Jusk? I invite you for coffee- parking in front of the house- 25 eur I charge..plus 4 for dogs... coming? ..it's nice ..I'm at home in the village..

Bravo Jusk...some of you will still applaud when they install meters on our mouths and charge for air...life is expensive zadrega

What's most insidious in this specific case is that the state asphalted the road (not to mention thousands of volunteer hours for building and maintaining trails), local extortionists now cash in on that built infrastructure. And on top, without any shame, blatantly claiming "it's for the environment"jezen

I'm wondering what PZS is doing with all this issue of absurdly rising parking fees? Isn't PZS an interest association that should represent members' interests? Based on experiences from abroad, where such interest groups actively fight for the well-being and best conditions for their members, one would expect PZS to stand against this trend of closing parking lots with ever more expensive barriers.

Because here every individual (except ranting on forums and FB nasmeh) can't really do anything mrk pogled. The logic of "we'll go elsewhere where parking is still cheap/free" won't work for long, because this trend of extortionate parking fees has been spreading full throttle in Slovenia in recent years. And we can't rely on the state to limit it. As @Trobec wrote... precisely the state served the municipality this road for fleecing after asphalting it with our money eek In my opinion, PZS should step in here, which is supposed to represent all us hikers.

If it was really about traffic regulation and environmental protection, then the solution is simple: up to a certain time (e.g. until 8am) driving into Vrata and parking at current prices is possible. That would solve the problem for all serious hikers and walkers.
For tourists arriving after 8am there's the bus.
But since those responsible actually don't care about mountaineering nor nature protection, but only about collecting as much money as possible, it won't be like that.

And what about parking in Mojstrana if we leave the car and opt for that bus? Free or also paid?

The worst is that they'll be full all the time because "locals" who go to Triglav once a year to "climb it" and foreign tourists will pay anyway because they're already here. Municipalities will pat themselves on the chest, dogs will bark and the caravan will go on. To me very dear (peaceful until this year) Kot valley will see visits increase 100x because free alternatives will be sought. Municipalities will ponder for two years and finally, for sustainable tourism, come up with a super idea - let there be a ramp and counter at the valley entrance. Of course it must match price-wise so it's a nice rounded whole in all three valleys. Whoopee yeee and nature claps with assesjezik

Well in many places (e.g. the often-mentioned Dolomites) people get it. With such fleecing the crowds reduce only slightly. There will always be enough people. Nice feeling when local sheriffs fleece rich sheep so nicely and share the loot.

MEETING MINUTES OF KR.GORA MUNICIPALITY
Kregarija can be postponed until September, then...

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a working meeting took place in the Alpine Museum on calming traffic in Vrata valley and over Vršič pass. Attendees included representatives from Ministry of Infrastructure, Road and Traffic Directorate, Roads Directorate, Development Investments Company, and Kranjska Gora Municipality.

At the meeting, technical and other obstacles were presented due to which the planned traffic calming regime has not yet been fully implemented. Despite these challenges, we believe that significant progress has been made, as traffic regulation in Vrata and over the pass has been ongoing for over 20 years. First big step last year, this year continuing with additional measures.

Vrata Valley

For Vrata, a turning circle and barrier construction was planned, but the procedure was delayed due to objective circumstances. The system as originally planned will come to life in September, after the tourist season, to avoid causing a traffic collapse with an untested system.

We are entering this season with the same summer regime as last year. The municipality will organize line transport to Vrata from June 15 to September 15. The carrier has been selected. In June, there will be 5 transports per day to and from Vrata, during the main season from July 1 onwards this regime will be significantly increased (8 transports per day from Monday to Thursday and 12 per day from Friday to Sunday). The first bus will take passengers to Vrata at 4 a.m., the last one will bring them back in the evening hours. All schedules will be published on websites and also forwarded to the Alpine Association and societies so that visitors are informed in time.

The signing of the Easement Contract is currently underway, with which the Ministry will grant the Municipality rights for legal management of land in Vrata valley. This means the Municipality can collect parking fees in Vrata valley and organize traffic control service that will direct traffic and ensure parking spaces are properly occupied.

Parking fee in Vrata valley will be significantly more expensive this year than in Mojstrana. We believe this will also deter visitors from entering the Valley with their own vehicle and they will prefer the free bus transport. This season, parking will be charged with a parking meter at the parking lot in Vrata. When the originally planned system with barriers is established in September, the parking payment will be tied to the time of entry or exit through the barrier.

Although the state did not manage time-wise to introduce the new regime with turning circle and functioning barrier already this summer season, we believe that we will be equally successful in calming traffic in Vrata valley with this year's plan.

The turning circle before the barrier will be built by July 15, 2024, barriers will remain raised until September. In accordance with the project, the installation of as many as 4 information boards is also planned, which will inform drivers about available parking spaces (one on the state road before Topolin, second before the former Lip factory, third before Mercator store Mojstrana, and fourth before the barrier). The information boards will be connected to the Information Center, meaning users can be informed about the situation in Vrata valley already before leaving home and plan their trip in time.

We want to thoroughly test the planned system first, eliminate any shortcomings, and optimize it by the next main tourist season.

@PFranci thanks for this minutes

"The meeting was attended by representatives of Ministry of Infrastructure, Road and Traffic Directorate, Roads Directorate, Development Investments Company, and Kranjska Gora Municipality."

And where were PZS representatives? Wouldn't it make sense for them to be there and represent hikers' interests? zmeden
