Great news. Will it be possible to pay for sitting on the bench with cash or only with a payment card? smile

Hi.
Is it clear now how it is with car parking at the small PARKING LOTS under the Črlovec avalanche and further from Poldov rovta? Is the barrier with the new tariff already behind Mojstrana settlement? Sad and thanks in advance. Best regards

Hi. Last Friday the barrier wasn't working, but there was a parking machine at the parking lot in front of Aljažev dom... If I noticed correctly, parking is possible for a few hours and all day. The latter costs 25 eur.

Is the barrier at the beginning of Vrata valley? It's really ridiculous that if the regime changes when you type parking Vrata into google you only get links to forums and valley ads...

On 12 June 2024 it said on MMC website: Barrier into Vrata valley remains open this season, but parking fee required.
Search: Vrata valley parking, for more results.
If interested, check timetable for Vrata Valley: /mk.pzs.si/novice.php?pid=17136 (no spaces) Good luck, wherever you are.

potpodnoge, thanks for info. Still unclear about parking at those two smaller lots in Vrata valley.

This says the notice on PZS site "Parking along road (except Čerlovec and Turkov rovt lots - start for Bivak II or ascent to Staničeva hut via Cmirom) not allowed and sanctioned by Triglav NP supervisors."

Parking for whole Zajezera valley in Italy is 5€. Not one day, can be for days or weeks. Five huge lots along valley. Starts for routes and huts. Montaž, Viš, also Višarje by road. Where this greed with parking fees and taxes from??? Seems Slovenia offers nothing but usury prices....

blazzm, thanks. Still doubt enforcement on mentioned, i.e. parking at those two as before... Hope so. If info from field soon, please. mizakaši, fully agree, such regime not holistic solution in valleys. Brings lots of € though...

This will mainly greatly reduce traffic in huts. These mayors only know charging parking. Commies. Instead increase offer at all Triglav NP points so visitors spend max. PZS should speak up too.

Eh Mato, you naive kid. Under those you gladly call "commies", there were no ramps or tolls in our hills. Everything was free for all, even in Bohinj.

For years, PZS members support the local offer, eat and sleep in huts, spend short holidays in valleys, much has been done voluntarily, seen people picking up trash, cleaning ditches and road channels, removing fallen trees .... they get back barriers and parking metersjezen Many people worked 40+ years so that everything was built at their expense when they paid taxes and contributions, now they get barriers, limits, meters, guards etceek And all are simply silent.

They made sure we won't visit these places anymore. It puts people off. Or we'll choose other valleys and paths. jezen

“Everything was free for all, even in Bohinj.”
True, there was free parking. If you had a vehicle! For me, train and bus to Mojstrana were not cheap. Most couldn't go to the mountains so often as now. There was more crowding in huts, because day hikes were practically unfeasible for the more distant ones.
Every era has its pros and cons. Now we could enjoy the mountains fully, but someone spoils it again.
Why all are silent, I wonder too; basically I'm not against parking fees and order, but against fleecing and enriching at others' expense.

@LISAC The barrier is right after the Fabrka parking lot (starting point for Vrtaška Sleme), so at the beginning of the valley, which means that when it starts operating, parking for Črlovec and Poldov Rovt will probably also be paid (if you have to pay just for entering the valley???)...

Friends of the mountains. I agree with almost all. I'm not against paid parking as long as it's within reasonable limits, but when it crosses all boundaries and turns into pure fleecing or profit-seeking, I'm firmly against it. I feel that in tourist municipalities like Bohinj they want to compensate for lost revenue that municipal officials along with other tourism experts aren't able to earn. Hikers represent a large share of revenue through accommodations, food, inn visits... etc., but you'll undoubtedly slowly and steadily drive us away in Bohinj municipality out of greed. Our case with my wife. Last October we decided to climb from Voj to Krsteniški Stog. At 5:30 we parked at the unguarded sandy parking lot at the end of Stara Fužina village. Upon return from 9-hour tour, payment amount: 9 hrs x 3 eur/hr = 27 eur!!! As many hours as that, times 3 eur, instead of a reasonable daily rate. Do you in Bohinj municipality think this is fair to hikers? Judge if we'll return....

The funniest thing is that if you drive to Blato you pay 20 euros a day (not little), but if you leave the car in the valley then 30 or more. And they do all this just for the environment, not for profit.big grin

Most likely prices in huts will also rise. For example in the shelter at Krn someone wrote, sleeping if you have paid membership 18 euros, radler 7 euros, meat minestra 14 euros plus parking 10 euros per day. Not cheap for a three-member family. This doesn't count as barriers. Anyway where they placed them we won't be there. Time will show if they decided rightrolling eyes

I agree, Darinka. Hope as many visitors as possible redirect to more friendly valleys for them, even abroad where no such rip-offs as here, obviously only foreigners in sandals wanted who have free rescue. In short shame on all responsible who brought things so far that mountains measured only by money.
