Yesterday we went to Obir.
Prices are like this:
Toll 8.00€ and you can park there several days too.
Large draft beer in Železno-kapeljska hut costs 4.90€.
We'll go look elsewhere.

On 6.7.24 I caught ''bus'' to Vrata valley. Not a bus but a van for 8 people. Was full but I squeezed in. Note that space is limited and no guaranteed spot on ''bus''.
For return at Aljažev at 12:15 ''bus''. Again not a bus but van for 16. Talked to driver who says not exception but only such vans run.
Heard also this year no parking at lower lot by Aljažev dom. So expect...

Which is the lower parking at Aljažev dom? Isn't it all one and the same at the end up to the barrier?

Obviously you haven't been to Vrata very oftennasmeh A bit after the customs guy on the left you descend a narrow road about 120m, there on the gravel lot there's space for about 50 cars.

Thanks, everyone, for the info.
@lijaneja: True nasmeh. Quite a while ago, last time last year in the middle of the night when anyway I wasn't paying attention to such things. That's why I asked - we learn while we're alive zadrega

The point is they cash in as much money as possible, that's why they offer little. First they want to get rid of domestic guests, like at Bled and Bohinj where Slovenes are not welcome. But the municipal bosses in tourist gems can't cope with the crowd of visitors. Another example is Bovec, which is currently just a shadow of its former glory.

I skimmed the comments and want to ask how to pay for parking in Vrata in the morning for 3 days. Does the parking meter allow it?

I don't know about the parking meter, but they have Easypark too, which I think allows it (has usurious commission though). With Easypark you can set parking in advance and see if it lets you. If you set it only there, it can be tricky because the connection is bad.

By the way, their parking meter didn't work at all when I was there. And it doesn't take cash.

Maybe some report:
How many vehicle visits does the counter (still there?) by the road at Vrata entrance show?
How parked up (also by nationality) is the Vrata valley now?

@di.. the counter is still there, last time I was there on Monday afternoon, it showed a bit less than 400. Weekends of course more. Most visitors when I'm up there are Czechs, Slovaks, Hungarians, some Germans, Austrians

@kolosej, yeah, sure. Someone shared a post when checking (of course didn't pay). So 25€/day adds up to over 112€ for 4 days at EasyPark eek

If anyone is interested, a couple of days ago parking at Vršič was free, because they haven't put up the parking meter yet. At Erjavčeva though it's already there and you pay 1 €/h or 10 €/day.

And who knows how much the fine is if you don't pay the parking fee in Vrata, but just park?

Triglav National Park Act, Article 65
(minor offenses)
(1) A legal entity is fined 1,000 to 5,000 euros for an offense if:
1. parks a motor vehicle, recreational trailer or vehicle for living outside designated places (42nd point para. 1 Art. 13);
2. lights fire outside arranged places except farming or forest protection (45.);
3. tents or camps outside designated (46.);
4. rides horse outside paths (49.);
5. uses pyrotechnics in nature not for defense etc. (52.);
6. bikes outside areas (19. Art. 15).
...
(4) An individual is also fined 100 to 1,000 euros for para. 1 offense.

Don't know how they determine 100 or 1,000. Depends on the inspector's mood that day?

But, dilemma... if you park on a designated spot and don't pay the parking fee, does it fall under TNP too? Or does some other municipal decree cover it? How is that?
