Thanks nasmeh with such beautiful landscape it's really easy to take nice pictures. There wasn't even such a crowd for me, probably because it was a very hot week... so it was really balm for the soul nasmeh

Today's goal was the hut at the Seven Triglav Lakes-that's the correct name too. I found out that at the second checkpoint it's the hut at the Triglav Lakes. Let that be a dilemma for someone else. Let's focus on today's unique tour without a single cloud-really hard to find such nice weather. Started from Planina Blato, past Planina Pri Jezeru, Planina Dedno Polje, Planina Ovčarije, over Prode. Back over Štabce.

We were surprised by the extremely clear water in the lakes. The level of Dvojno Lake covered the path in places. I've never come across so much water.7

Behind us is a wonderful 2-day hike from Planina Jezero, over Dedno Polje, across Štapce to the hut at the Triglav Lakes. The trail is sprinkled with little flowers and wonderful views.
We slept at the hut at the Triglav Lakes and the next morning continued over Planina Ovčarije to Planina Viševnik, where the friendly caretakers served us tea and homemade soup. We ended the hike with soaking in Bohinjska Bistrica.

Yesterday a pleasant group of four went to the Hut at the Triglav Lakes. There via Prode, back via Štapce saddle. So many visitors as I don't remember for years.Cars were parked all along the road before Planina Blato already at the turnoff to Planina Vogar.

As always flowers at the end. This delicate white flower covers the shores of the Double Lakes - spring adonis. A somewhat unusual sight that I saw here for the first time.17
Surprising find in the forest above Prode - yellowish-white lady's slipper.18
This is how the inflorescence of yellow cow-wheat looks up close; it is plentiful on the Prode.19
Finally, the flower of the diverse dryad from Dedno polje pasture, where we went for good sour milk.20

I'm wondering if anyone walked the path from Komna to Triglav Lakes in recent days. What are the conditions like? And especially if the bivouac at Triglav Lakes is open (it should be in principle).

Bivouac at Sedmerih is open, my colleague and I slept in it on Friday. Otherwise in pretty poor condition (food scraps, cigarettes, dirty sheets) but otherwise ok. We came from Ovčarija direction, so can't help with conditions to Komna.

So, since I first asked for info, now I'm passing it on too.

Path from Komna to Triglav Lakes is well traceable (ski tourers group was there recently), so we followed only their tracks which mostly go on marked path. Snowshoes (or skis) are mandatory gear though. Today some tried without (no such tracks in morning, yes in afternoon), but no one got beyond half hour from Komna.
Bivouac is as Luka described... functions, but some sadly don't clean up after themselves.

Otherwise things turned a bit differently than planned. Since yesterday "morning" (well, it was already afternoon) we started later (previous day we decided at 4pm it really makes no sense to continue to lakes hoping to arrive at least somewhat in daylight, esp since we didn't know conditions. So we slept nicely in hut, path to lakes and back we did today.
Here I'd praise the staff at Komna Hut.

Yesterday, 10.4.2015, I was at the Hut at Triglav Lakes from Komna. Path was well traceable and packed by numerous skiers and some snowshoers. Morning still very hard and frozen, afternoon quite softened. No issues with snowshoes (except short sections where snow already gone). Snow well transformed and didn't sink much on path even after sun softened it. High temp and strong sun quickly erased predecessors' tracks, so on return much less visible than morning.
Initially planned to continue over Prode and pastures Ovčarija, Pri jezeru and Vogar to Ribčev Laz, but due to lack of time decided to return same way. Path by Double Lake towards Prode was snowshoed, don't know how far. Maybe instead of Čez Prode it continued to Črno jezero. Upper part of path over Prode looked bare from Komna.
To Komna snow (mostly ice) started at 44th serpentine, but there were extensive bare areas to 7J junction, so snowshoeing to junction almost impossible. On Komna and to Triglav Lakes still quite wintery (up to 1m snow). Photo description follows.
