Today we headed from planina Blato over Štapce to the hut at Triglav Lakes, there a little rest then return over Prode to start. Path over Prode completely dry, over Štapce just some snow patches left - not worth mentioning. Weather morning beautiful and warm, last 20 min rain refreshed us a bit, normal for Bohinj area. No snakes met, ha,ha....Another wonderful day!

Oh, how nice, no more snakes, I'm really glad, now I can really go. It's mostly dry now and by the pic looks nice, keep enjoying, lp

Yesterday I went from planina Vogar, past Črno jezero to the hut at the seven and back over Prode again to planina Vogar. I was a bit worried snow would surprise us somewhere, given previous days bad weather, but snow absolutely none. Path very nice, a bit uphill, a bit downhill, a bit flat, so never boring

Yesterday from Koča pri Savici over Komarča. Path OK. I wanted to go further up the valley to Hribarice to check snow conditions around Triglav, but a thunderstorm was looming, partner against. So quickly to M. Tičarica then back. Nice hike, the whole day we met only a few people, mostly foreigners.

Yesterday I hiked around here. At eight they tried to charge me for parking at Savica. I said I'm going to the restaurant and he said then no need to pay. Actually bought two small bottles of water there (1.5 EUR each), because the shop at the lake was closed on Sunday. Tourist office opens at nine (otherwise eight)... can't rely on Bohinj folks and their tourist offer, all they know is to put up parking meters and issue fines for wrong parking elsewhere, even if otherwise parked according to traffic rules. Well, first over Komarča to Black Lake and to the Hut at Seven Lakes. The famous conditioning and partly technically demanding Komarča didn't impress me that much in that regard, but the path is nice otherwise. From the hut continued to Prehodavci past the other three lakes (btw. which is the seventh? that artificial one by the hut? ). At Prehodavci I really liked reading the warning in the hut about taking trash down to the valley in all possible languages and dialects. After good bean stew back to Hut at Seven Lakes and from there to Komna for lunch. And then down those serpentines that drag like chicken guts, back to the starting point. Someone mentioned snakes above, I didn't see any. But on the path from Hut at Seven Lakes to Prehodavci and back I saw a total of eight marmots. Most common around Kidney Lake. If you stand or walk around there a bit you'll surely spot them. While looking around one came out from under a rock and I stood two meters away from it. Well, on the way from Seven Lakes to Komna I saw three more chamois, on the way home by the road two roe deer Surprisingly, I got a receipt for all purchases in the huts (which I had to make because the shop was closed). Looks like tax inspectors finally lifted their asses a bit and went up there to check...

hello, can someone tell me if there's a van from Stara Fužina to Planina Blato? How much does the ride cost and what's the schedule? thanks for info...

I like this picturesque loop too; usually renew it with my wife every year

This is very tempting. How long does it take to hike around at a normal pace (rather a bit faster than slower) with breaks? Probably not a bad idea for a two-day tour with overnight at Prehodavci and including some peak?

You get around in about 10 hours total with stops at huts and photos, which take the most time

Been thinking for a long time about visiting Triglav lakes, so heading there soon. Is it possible to go over Komarča with a dog, or better to go both ways via Komna? Thanks for info

..depends on the dog ...and watch for forecasted storms, because Komarča can be very dangerous in such conditions...

I've gone with my dog many times over Komarča to the seven lakes and then on to Komna. The pup was used to high mountains and narrow paths. Rocks are loosened more by hikers than by dogs, of course you shouldn't let him dash on such paths.

what worries me more is that she might get a rock on her head if the path is really that crowded. otherwise we're not that used to high mountains yet, since we only started hiking more this year. maybe next year when she's more accustomed.

Just as people are different, probably dogs are too. Wherever I could go in winter, my dog went with me, and I really wouldn't know what winter technique we used to reach the top, I'm a simple hiker, I don't know techniques. In 13 years, quite a few tours have accumulated, now he's 16 years old and waits for me at home.
