Uršlja Gora 10.1.2015
Zdravko invited us this Saturday to his "house mountain" - Uršlja. He recently celebrated his birthday and his intention was also a "modest" treat for his mountain friends. It started in the morning at his home with fresh home-baked rolls, coffee, tea….
At Ciganija there were already plenty of cars. The road to Križan was icy and slippery. Across the meadows it was blowing so that it shifted us. Then in the forest it was warm, so we took off our clothes. Despite the partly icy path, ascent was possible without aids. On the top again strong SW and Janez immediately got the idea for playing velik nasmeh

Hut open and full. We refreshed ourselves a bit outside on the bench and returned to the valley. To Ciganija in short sleeves. For the whole tour 3:37 hours.
Our two colleagues "amphibians" (mountaineers/cavers – Janez/Milan) were maybe a bit disappointed because we didn't find some cave/abyss on the way to "have a swim" velik nasmeh

For the conclusion, abundant afternoon snack at Zdravko's, prepared by his wife during our absence. No lack of goodies and all burned calories (Kcal = 1948) replenished in a moment… cool

After two days of thaw, winter returned. 10 cm new snow, winter temperatures and wind on top. View despite hazy clouds beautiful and clear. After yesterday's slushing and trudging through mud, crowd on top, today nice winter makeover and no crowd on top. mežikanje

Yesterday 25.1. on Uršlja gora, started at Poštarska hut via Kozarnica to top, descended via Kal. Quite some new snow on path, nice winter idyll.

Beautiful winter day. Like Wednesday again breathtaking beauties on Carinthian pride. Iron path nicely tracked, half meter snow on top, some drifted. Top pleasantly warm, light wind. Path to Ledine tracked, road plowed and salted. Had privilege to track over Kozji hrbet to Ski hut down to Podkraj. nasmeh

Some more today's impressions. 10 cm new snow, top nicely drifted track so proper trudging from church to top. View very nice, warm and sun.

No logbook in wall cabinet at hut entrance anymore mrk pogled

If someone sets it let them write, else I'll do next time.

Today with new snow not relevant, but yesterday road looked good for sledding. Freshly groomed.

The notebook was gone already last winter the whole winter and the whole year. As for the summit logbook, on Wednesday there was a proper mountaineering logbook there, but by Saturday it was gone. zmeden

From 1500 m a.s.l. there is really a lot of snow.

Uršlja gora 10.2.2015 - for me a bit different cool

My morning starts a bit confused. I thickly spray my hiking boots with FORTH anti-tick spray. The smell doesn't suit me and soon I spot the mistake velik nasmeh

At Ciganija (8:25) they are just widening the parking lot with a big plow. We park and start along the plowed road toward Križani. Zdravko grumbles because the freshly plowed bothers him zmeden

. Soon Milan and I decide for the shortcut to the right and trampling the whole snow. In drifts cca. up to 50cm and more, otherwise 5 to 10cm. En route the idea comes up to visit Plešivski dvor (cca. 1000m) and past Verneršek farm to the top of Uršlja. For me it's all the same, as long as I discover something new. Milan takes over the leading of the trampling cool

. At 9:35 we are at the remains of Plešivsko manor. While reading the history of this mighty manor on the board, an association comes to mind. In today's time they would probably call that gentleman a "tycoon". velik nasmeh

Soon we are at Verneršek farm (10:15). The farm is known for hospitality and bears this reputation deservedly. When crossing the farmyard we get an invitation to warm up a bit in the old house by the heated stove. We gladly accept the invitation and it doesn't stop at just warming - THANK YOU again!!. After a hearty snack we plunge into virgin snow and higher in the forest find the path leading from Poštarski dom. Someone made a track with skis, which comes in handy. Along the way we sink deeply when trampling drifts that have erased the tracks of predecessors in some places. At 13:10 we are finally at the little church. In the wind, sun and southern snow up to our waists and back to the shelter of the church for a short break. We return via the classic route through forest, meadows, Križani and at 15:25 we are at Ciganija.
The road from Ciganija to Križani is plowed. Parking lot at Ciganija is made. Marked paths are trodden. Mornings will now probably be icy, because today there was quite a strong thaw...

ČRNA, URŠLA, SLEME, at night as part of K-24

We gathered in Črna and via Žerjav, Jazbin, Ledin arrived via a very well trodden path to the Mountain. Descended to Križan with crampons. Continued on the icy road to Javorska road, from there to Sleme.

Yesterday 23.2.2015 I was on the Mountain and from Ledin 15-20 cm snow on top then 30-40 cm. Path was untrodden, likewise track drifted over. Gaiters recommended. LP
