Yesterday at 6am start from third hairpin of Vršič road past the hut in Krnica and along marked towards Špik. After an hour of walking we turn onto ragged pathless terrain through devastated area then along steep and well visible path we emerge from fog. Phenomenal! Check bivouac condition and after short break onwards to summit mainly combination of reworked snowfields and scree at end some light climbing (II-III). Winter and climbing gear stayed in backpack (winter not needed). Nicely used day with great views

Yesterday we were on VMP. Almost no snow in Velika Dnina. Tour to VMP is always excellent like that. Adding a few more pics!

Today on Great Martuljek Ponca. In the great Dnina I turn into rock terrain earlier, which brings me to the first level under Ponca, i.e. the gully. Gully is OK to climb, upper part few moves poor III grade, belays are there. Above gully crumbly for a moment, then conditions improve. Weather ok, bit windy. Summit book at top. Descent back down gully, from top have to search for it a bit. Descent over red saddle and scree to bivouac 1, where I take longer break.
If this isn't it... we all know.1

June is the month for Ponca. When lower part of gully still under snow, scree (higher) is dry, Dnina almost fully covered with snow, where much easier to progress than on scree, on return nicely slide on it.

In the Great Dnina... maybe the last 20 minutes there's a bit of a problem with scree. If you turn to the wall earlier it's better.

Yesterday on Great Martuljek Ponca via Great Dnina where we turn into rock terrain (cairns) thus avoiding red gully. Continue on scree to gully leading to upper level. In upper part of gully turn right on exposed ledge then easier climbing to top.

Exactly so, Tone. First it veers a bit to the left then straight up. As I already wrote we exited to the right along the narrow ledge and then easier climbing and scrambling to the top

In the picture from 25.5., year 11, the ascent gully is a bit left of the middle of the picture, my stance is on the rocky flat right above the exit from the lower gully.
