The plateau is almost empty today, in the forenoon there was still some sun, around half past two sleet was falling. It is possible that it will be a bit whitened tomorrow. Crocuses are still blooming, just less abundantly. lp

Yesterday's nice May 1st day I spent on Velika and Mala Planina, where I stayed overnight in Domžalski Dom.
Start behind Ušivec on the road, then Gojška, Mala and Velika Planina. Weather mostly sunny with light wind. Path, BP, huge number of hikers.
Nice experience, pity that crocus blooming on a larger scale is already over.
Today around 7, when descending, weather cold, windy with light rain.

Hello!
I'm wondering about access to Velika Planina from the Kranjski Rak direction (higher on the gravel path next to the quarry). Last time I drove to the gravel parking, there was a big ditch dug around and I couldn't park anywhere. Is it still like that?
Now I have a 1.6-year-old daughter and access from Calcit is not an option, cable car is not my favorite either.

Eva1991, on Saturday you can come with your daughter to cheer for our runners (closest to you will be at Jarški dom). Primoza and cvalenti, you two will probably be participants of the race. The finish area is still deserted for now.

I have a question. Is it possible to park so that it's convenient for someone to go by cable car and for others to walk with the dog? (from the same car)
How many hours of walking would that be? Which path is that?

So if you start from the same starting point.. the dog can go over Kraljev hrib. First you reach Planina Dol.. then on to Velika planina. You arrive at Zeleni rob. Wonderful path, quite steep but a large part through forest. Approximately 3 hours walking. When I went that path.. I met only 2 mountaineers, while the Kranjski Rak side is more crowded.

Park at the parking before the gondola. On foot you can go through DOL valley to Zeleni rob (marked path ca 2.5 hours) or over RIGELJ (hunter's, unmarked, a bit steeper, arrive at planina a bit further from gondola, also ca 2 hours). Good luck!

Today to Velika planina over "Rigel". A bit hot but super, all to Zeleni rob.
at Zeleni rob shock. Prices higher than at Kamniško sedlo, tea 1.9€ .They rip folk off senselessly!!!
