Today from the lower gondola station to planina Dol.Gaz it was already made, in the upper part snow to the knees. Likewise, the trail was made from planina towards Konj, whether to the top I don't know. I myself went with snowshoes along the road to Zeleni rob. The idyll was disturbed only by snowmobile tracks, but planina is big and they can be avoided. For snowshoeing, Velika Planina is an ideal place. I returned by gondola. At the upper station I went to check if the trail was made on the path over Rigelj, but no tracks were seen. Thanks also to the mountaineer who brought the forgotten glove to the valley.

Thanks @skalaš70. If weather holds to current forecast , on Friday it will "powder" a bit more and weekend up there could be fairy-tale again...

Gita beautiful photos. Rakove Ravni?, is the road drivable and parking cleared? Thanks for answer and many more enjoyments ahead.

The road was plowed, not salted, with 4x4 drive normally drivable. At the parking lot (cleared) we also noticed cars without 4x4, whether they had any issues on the road I wouldn't know. Good luck!

Hi! Which path is best for winter ascent to Velika Planina? Interested because of car and parking? Where is best to start ascent? Planning to come on Sunday. Greetings from Croatia

Hi, a week ago I went from Stahovica (parking at Calcit factory), past St. Primož, to Velika Planina. On Sunday there'll be lots of fresh snow, which extends walking time. Count around 4h. From Planina you can descend to the valley by gondola. Then you have a couple more km on the road to parking. Maybe we meet somewhere on the path

Nice path also from Jurček inn in Krivčevo settlement (Kamnik-Gornji Grad road, from Kamnik approx 15 min.) There almost always trodden. Approx 2 hours walk to Mala Planina.

Hi Swen11. I went to Velika Planina from Kranjski Rak inn, beautiful route and if road is cleared can park higher, think there was a quarry there. Anyway I'm from Sveti Križ Začretje and also plan to go Sunday up exactly that way. Need to come a bit earlier, no parking problem.

Hello Swen! If planning to visit VP, I advise parking in Stahovica before Calcit factory, from there nice road to St. Primož and continue on mountain trail (surely trodden) to Jarški, Črnuški or Domžalski hut, all close. Good 2 hours not 4 as Barentoter says, with proper pace. Gigi obviously prefers drive to top, but coming from far probably want more walking. Enjoy our hills!

Thanks all for advice. Decided for Stahovica and Calcit factory parking. Longer walk no problem for us. More walking more enjoyment and views. Good luck all and safe steps!
