Tomorrow we'd go from Kr. Rak to Velika Planina, and I'm wondering what the road to the parking lot is like (snow, ice, dry?). I assume the pictures are from the starting point, those last posted from somewhere higher?

Pushing the stroller to the junction for Tiha Dolina is no small feat.

The best for the child and the parent is a baby carrier. The child needs to feel as much body warmth as possible in the first period.
The shaking is strong enough, yet more pleasant than in the stroller.
Not to mention walking over stones and roots.

A few pages back I was asking about conditions to the starting point - well, we did the trip and it was really beautiful - sunny day, very few people (probably because of corona), warm, snow...
For those confused by finding the starting point, I'll just note that in Kamnik follow the signs for Velika Planina. We followed Google Maps to Črnivec pass and went off route by almost 30km, we just have a talent for getting lost... I was worried those were signs to the carrier starting point and overlooked them. Also recommend parking further along the macadam a couple of turns (there's a parking lot), since there's not much space by the road. Locals probably know all this and it's obvious.

For finding the tour starting point I recommend using "List of mountains" on Hribi.net and not "Current conditions". There the path starting point for each tour is very well described.

Garmont, I did, there it says go through Kamnik to Crnivec pass - since there's no sign for Crnivec in Kamnik, I set navigation which took me to another pass that's also part of Crnivec but not Volovjek. Completely unnecessarily I headed to Crnivec when there are signs for Velika Planina (that was the point). I'll write under the route description

Oh I'm sorry, but if you had problems already finding Črnivec, then I really advise against going to the mountains. At least study the map a bit in advance.

My dear Zemlja, don't complicate with navigation. Simple: read the map - ask the peasant! Especially now when it's forbidden to go to the mountains. Will have to find some illegal path variant or alternative visit to Velika Planina in the fog.

don't despair. Not only every beginning is difficult, but even many beginners are difficult I myself had quite a few similar troubles, both as a beginner and at the very beginning How hard it is only with a sausage that has two beginnings

You really have too much time
Well we found the start and end, did an extra km or so and some detour too - on a day when you're not rushing anywhere it's all the same. Written for those who might be interested.
For those who only read what they like to see though - we went before any corona decree. Now we're searching our local hills.
