To Zeleni rob via Rigelj, descent via Dol. Trail through forest from Konjščica to Dol frozen. Small crampons suffice. Ski area almost empty despite excellent conditions. Work, school.

Nice and varied unmarked path without features. Up on steep sections, some narrow grassy paths and some exposed spots requiring great caution, especially very dangerous in wet and icy.

Covid is Attila for the „srke“, the scourge of God. But sipping excellent espresso in the sunshine is priceless.5

Today to Velika Planina from Stahovica. Path dry to Mickina hut (junction to Pasje pečine). Path over Pasje pečine currently closed. On winter variant past Pirčev vrh and on to top of Velika Planina snow dry in morning, real squeaker, excellent for hiking. Good luck

Dry almost to Pasje pečine. Due to landslide lower path closed, but bigger issue (danger) new snow on hard base, so if no crampons better via Pirčev vrh. Despite quite sunny morning very few visitors.
There is not much new snow.1

Today nice hike on Velika Planina in sun, wind and snow shower from Kranjski Rak. Path without features. Hikers on plateau very few.

We visited Velika Planina in sunny, cloudy and windy weather and to top it off in a snow flurry, all in one day. Millions of crocus flowers beautified the slopes of the plateau and if we add walking on snow to that, isn't it unique?

Since the last visit to Velika Planina not much has changed. The road from Kranjski Rak is of course properly maintained for a fee. After the last snowfall there's nice white on the plateau. Crocuses peek out of the snow, black pasque flower is almost fully wilted. More at:

Went to Velika Planina today.
Morning nice, clear, later fog. Very foggy on green edge. On return near Jarski dom sun showed again.
Morning snow frozen. Crocuses look sadder.
At Jarski dom I treated myself to struklji.

Since I have it almost in front of my nose, yesterday I decided to hike it from bottom to top. No snow anymore, mud mostly dried up, temperature and visibility super. Huge number of visitors, I lingered a bit in front of Domžalski dom and quenched thirst, all tables taken.

Yesterday the classic again, Vegrad - Jarški hut. After all that rain, surprisingly no mud, but lots of sun. Consequently, I lay down on a dry bench and enjoyed divine peace. In less than an hour, as long as I stayed in front of the hut, no living soul. Crocuses suddenly gone, snow just some patches left, but sorry, I didn't feel like carrying the camera, so made a few shots with the phone.
Finally, the green color prevails.1
It is rumored that Soklič will start renovating the old part of the building.2
In the good gorge below, the mists persisted.3
Shepherd huts stand deserted.4
Planjava and Ojstrica remain white.5

Building fitness: Kraljev hrib, Dol, Gradišče, Jarški hut. Štruklji. Zeleni rob, coffee. On the plateau peaceful with few visitors. The plateau ready for new grazing season.

Chairlift not operating, no more snow, so no more roar and stinky exhausts from reckless guys with snowmobiles.
Since workday, no shouting from Sunday screamers and dog barking.
Peace. Only birdsong heard.
Idyll.

Parenzo, very nice trip without Sunday screamers and dog barking. Interesting comments under pic 2 and 3. Humorously commented pic 3 "Tourist attraction". This motif, representing shameful black spot of Velika Planina everyone avoids and doesn't want to see - from visitors to authorities and responsible. Bravo - call a spade a spade! nasmeh

Yesterday late afternoon with friend we did a loop on Velika Planina. From start at Jelšev konfin climbed to Gojška planina and Bukovec, continued via Veliki stan to Mala planina and back to start. Clouds in sky and fog partially obscured views of plateau and mountains. Walk pleasant. At top of Bukovec missing arranged passage through fence for hikers.
