I'll answer. The road to St. Primož is now better than when it was new. Three cheers for the excavator operator and all who helped him. Leave the car at the Kalcit parking lot and go nicely along the road to Primož. There is no longer a direct path in the Apneni valley to the planina. Go a bit your own way or along the arranged path past the church. The path from Primož to Sušav is normally passable for people and nowhere narrower than half a meter. From Mickina hut continue along the upper winter path and there are no problems to the top. Stop at Jarški dom too and victory is guaranteed. Maybe wait for nicer weather. Good luck

Thanks. The plan was for Saturday with the group. But given the road situation, we will likely change the plan.

Two "emergency" ones still there. From Tuhinj valley at Markovem to Sovja peč and on to Volovljek.... The other from Mekinje over Brezje to Gozd. It joins a bit above Črna on the road. Good luck.

Finally yesterday the thing cleared, though in the morning I didn't know. Prepared for descent over Rigelj and walk to Stahovica, but went down with cable car and by bus on the road. Start (in sneakers) at Calcit, to Primož path nicely arranged, including the last bend which the flood practically took away. Higher to Velika same situation, slide a bit above Primož and impassable through Pasje pečine, where the detour via Pirčev vrh adds less than five minutes. Planina of course untouched, just fewer tourists though all eateries already open. Cable car works stopped after the catastrophe only for a week, almost all chairlift poles already set up. Don't recommend the path through Dolški graben for now, as especially the lower part is in catastrophic condition, to Rigelj I'll check soon.

Velika planina would be visited enough even in winter without that chairlift! Don't know why it's still needed here? Just remove the old one, and the planina would be more pristine. Also on Mariborsko Pohorje unnecessarily building intermediate funicular station. Who will get off there? And who will maintain two tracks in winters without snow and frost? At altitudes from 300 to 1000m.

They fixed the trail quickly! Bravo!! Why is the Zeleni Rob guesthouse called a goldmine? Prices, what else?

Without the chairlift up here it wouldn't work at all. Sure, a quad chairlift would suffice, but it's like that. Skodla, Zeleni rob, Sladki kot are manna for foreigners, most of whom couldn't handle those 250 m ascent. I noticed that before the apocalypse, when they already tore down the old double chairlift. Of course, winter is dead; there is no skiing, no tourists either. Those few who go up in any weather don't need any chairlifts. Yes, @brett, for tea in a coffee pot I already left 2.5€ in winter. They were diligent on the road and path. Locals helped a lot.

Once this Zeleni rob "saved" me with a sausage when on top of Velika I decided to do that really long loop, but had too little food with me. Got rid of some 8-10 euros, but it was fatty and good so I had energy for Konj, then through Dolski graben and along Koželjeva back to Calcita.

Hello! On Saturday, 16.9.2023, we planned with kids to Velika planina. Start from parking behind Ušivcem. Not from this part of Slovenia so wonder if road to parking behind Ušivcem is passable? Thanks for info. Best, M.

I'll bluff a bit and answer even though I haven't been behind Ušivcem since the floods. Road from Raka to parking behind Ušivcem must be good, as workers doing new chairlift use and repair it regularly. Good luck and have a nice time.

Podlom - Kranjski Rak complete closure. If someone risks it, let them. Just don't cry then.

The road is passable. Already last week, 5.9., I was at Raka. And the planina, of course. At the bend a little before Kališka church half the road was washed away but it is passable. I really drove through Markovo and Studenec. But they also drive through Črno. In short, one gets to Ušivca.

They haven't mounted the seats on the via ferrata yet?

Yes, I went up yesterday myself to check, but they haven't even installed the via ferrata completely. The path over Pasje pečine is still closed too, in icy condition the damaged section is deadly dangerous to cross, so mandatory over Pirčev vrh!
