Did you know about this last Igor picture posted 31.03. on TK gora under conditions and next to it "all good things come to an end"?
They pointed this farewell out to me today.

06.05.17 Viš from Saisera
From Koča Pellarini I climb to Nabojsovo sedlo. From there I traverse one of Igor's nicest paths Sentiero Alpinistico C.Chersi. Initial part has huge snow. Before Špranja I turn left up "Macesnova" variant to Mojzesova škrbina. Sinking all the way, only near top hard. On secured but very snow-covered climb I ascend to upper part. I traverse to path from Koča Corsi. At cave at 2500m I light a candle, didn't know if I would descend to preduh later. Little wind with sun. Return from summit later via preduh. Very steep parts dangerous for slip in such ground. Footprints from today's early hiker. Under dripping wall I traverse back to Mojzes. Return past B.Dario Mazzeni to Saisera. Huge snow above 2000m. Ascent to Viš not avalanche dangerous, but risk in bad terrain.
Good luck

I kindly ask for information about Viš. If someone was up there these days - how much snow is left, how's the path?
thanks for clarification and have a nice day

Katja, 30.05. I set off for Vis. To Viška planina, past Corsi, to M. škrbina, to the summit.. Crossed 5 steep snowfields, snow soft. On the summit I signed in as the first this year, which means snow is melting like crazy.. For the descent I used ice axe and crampons, because afternoon shower chased me. Attaching a couple of pics..Good luck!

Pellarini Hut is closed all season this year! The reason is banal - they can't find a warden!

Whoever knows Italian:

On Sunday I headed to Vis via the south side. Up over the škrbina, down the normal route. Dry conditions.

Cave del Mole - R.Corsi (Anita Goitan) - Vis - R.Corsi (normal) - Cave del Mole

Ascent in the shade and coolness of the mighty wall, very beneficial on hot days, with beautiful views to linger and admire...
The path is dry, but wet and slippery in places, cables in very good condition.
From the škrbina I crossed the south side, no data on the north snowfield unfortunately.
Cloudiness overtook me near the summit, a beautiful surprise at the Vis summit.
Day for angels...nasmeh

Vis from Zajzera via SV couloir, snowfield no issue. From summit descended via Anita Goitan and Žabniška škrbina back to Zajzera. Beautiful day, took 11:30 h.

So far I haven't hiked independently in Italian mountains, but from ours I have plenty of experience. I know that Italian paths have somewhat different markings.

For the path in the intro www link: I studied the description from hribi.net and the guide Western Julian Alps (PZS Klemen Janša) combined with maps and photos.

Stated as a difficult marked path.
Are the ITA markings on this path really OK and no worries about missing a turn somewhere?
Do I need to pay special attention to anything exactly on this path?
In SLO I have already done several shorter and longer sections without a via ferrata kit, even though it was recommended. I'll have it with me, but I'm still curious if it can be done without major issues too?
Does the same apply to these paths: both from Pecol to Strmo peč, both from Zajzera via Rifugio Pellarini to Veliki Nabojs?

Thanks for help.

On none of the mentioned paths do you need a via ferrata kit, unless you're addicted and have to clip in at the sight of a few meters of cable. These aren't paths loaded with cables, and I think there's no real need as they're not that exposed.
