Gola N/E was never easy

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me (if gola is not the one that connects to anita), that it was already last August when I was on vis, at the junction, a sign saying the path is closed.

"pikpok", that path whose branch you saw is not Gola N/E!

@pikpok ... you saw abandoned *Sentiero Cavalieri* by which one used to return to Žabniška krnica. I traversed that path in 2005 and it was already very worn back then. A year or two later the ladder on the key overhanging part broke off so they made a new path a bit lower from that one. Neither one nor the other is part of Gola N/E but return variants from Vis

Yes winter gear and some rope as needed. In the upper part the pegs are fixed so no problem

Not even necessary, rather crampons and ice axe, self-belay kit and helmet. The path practically bypasses all snowfields except at the entry to Mali Vis and at the junction with the gully under Turn. I'm surprised that so much snow has melted on the north sides of both Montaž ridge and Vis, meanwhile from Prevala it is still possible to ski to Gilbertij - there is no lack of snow also on the south side of the central ridge Kanin - Črnelska spica.

On the path from Beli Vodi to Corsi, both the direct path and Sentiero Centenario have no snow. Also the path through Mojzesova škrbina and through Mojzesov couloir (western part A. Goitan) is snow-free. According to the Corsi hut keeper, there is also no snow on the entire Anita Goitan and Ceria Merlone.

Is the left path also dry? And descent from front scree to lake? thanks best D

Mojzesov žleb is definitely under snow and with about 10 m rock jump, rope needed for descent, I don't know about Prednje špranje.

Okmodko, that's still misleading info: zero isotherm is above 3000 m!

Yesterday /28.8.2014/ from Nevejesko sedlo via Planina Krni dol to Rifugio Corsi at Mojzesova škrbina /new cables/ and to Viš. Descent /path no.: 1234 page 374, Julian Alps Mountaineering Guide 1998 by Mihelič/. Since we were three, we split on descent from Rifugio Corsi. One went back to start, second via path 625 and then left on 628 /at Kapne stene/ to Viška planina, third via path that also leads to Viška planina but runs almost under cargo cableway. All three paths well secured and nice to hike. We had fog up to cca 2000m. So we had to use maps often. We hit snow on flat a little above Rifugio Corsi but it is gentle and unproblematic to cross. Maybe not best to walk its edge as it is undermined. It stretches high towards Škrbina Zadnje špranje. On summit path lots of scree so caution advised. At summit view from clear to foggy sea. Nice tour. Detail. On macadam road from Nevejesko sedlo to Planina Krni dol they concreted steep sections so it was closed and had to bypass through forest in places.

That snow above the hut can be avoided, by turning right before it towards Anita Goitan and Krniška škrbina then immediately first left towards Forcella Rio Freddo but not there but after about five minutes left again. After cca ten minutes we reach rock with arrow right - that is the normal route. If we go a bit further and down we reach junction where we would cross snow, ahead to Mojzesova škrbina after a bit tricky rocks at start and from there right also to Viš, left to Koštrunove špice.

Though I believe the "Anite Goitan" path is more interesting to many, this "just" difficult path spiced with some easier climbing is perfect for autumn days
