Such tour-adventures are small treasures, but it's nice sometimes to climb something harder in good rock or just wander, even in lower hills. All that and much more needs to be done while we're in this world tongue Something else tempts me that you know very well, but somehow I can't stretch time to do everything as soon as I think of it. roll eyes

Nicely spent yesterday with visit to new bivouac and High Rokav. In the glacier snow just a sample, route is dry.

today on visoki rokav.

conditions from bivak II onwards are fantastic. squeaky snow! even when entering the wall of veliki rokav from top of škrbina the entry is very steep but just nice poking. only higher up due to too little snow and a bit high temps we had to climb two short steps, so we roped up in štajerca. for descent we did those two steps with one 30m abseil. when descending on sunny slopes snow became southern.

on summit fantastic views and almost no souls anywhere. at bivak met two going to dovški križ. in distance saw two on dolkova špica. on descent at top of škrbina another two also heading to visoki rokav.

Yesterday we took advantage of the nice day, which was ideal for hiking and also didn't skimp on views.
The path to the glacier is normally passable, the glacier is still nicely filled, entry to the climbing part is without issues and dry to the top.
After returning to the saddle, we also climbed to Middle Rokav, the path to the top is dry.

Škrlatica-High Rokav-D.Križ-Škrnatarica (05.10.18)

Promised a wonderful day. Left marked path just before it turns right (in rock). Up scree to gully. One spot IV, otherwise II-III. Probably better to move left already in lower part. Exit via west ridge to summit. Descent to kotle from where we climb above Rokav glacier. We also climbed High Rokav and descended with the help of a rope. Glacier nicely snow-covered, lower part (jump) almost mandatory rope. Towards Dovški Križ shoes almost dried. Great day, continued to Škrnatarica. Great view to Široka peč and down to amphitheater. Descent via more or less snow-covered gully to Čerlovec.

Snow there now is enough and (if frozen) much easier access than in summer on steep scree.
But check before how the descent from Škrlatica shoulder to Kotel is!

On the scree, snow only at the edges. Higher in the glacier almost to the end. Info from today
