On the Triangle or probably called Spodnji plot these days they're making (new) via ferrata.nasmeh

Yeah I really am. They're really making new via ferratas in every wall, even in those with routes to climb.jezen

Really crazy. Better they make the chairlift work
or tear it down....

That's tourism, something for everyone. Abroad they have plenty of these via ferratas, alongside alpine routes too, their tourism is great, here everything falls apart. Local mountaineers go abroad and leave money there.

The real boom of via ferrata tourism here is still hindered by the bureaucratic clause in the PZS statute that no new paths may be equipped in high mountains.

Super bureaucratic clause!
Our mountains are already so crisscrossed with equipped paths. Let some pathless world remain for our descendants.
For via ferratas there are plenty of options in valleys. If abandoned someday, more chance to clear the iron there. Sad indeed abandoned paths in high mountains look where no one cleared pegs and cables.

Whoever besides PV also reads Bergauf or something similar sees that there are also different views, mindsets and mentalities. Not only on the 'ferate' topic but also on many others around which opinions have already clashed on this portal.

It's fun to observe how, while in countries where they've completely destroyed nature they try to find at least something natural, in Slovenia some try to "tame" nature. Slovenia has one of the least destroyed environments in Europe. We should be proud of that, not seek ways to attract tourists!

But there's one annoying fact: that you have to live off something.

We need to find a compromise where and how much. But we go to extremes with restrictions. So with us restriction = ban. And that in many areas.
True we have beautiful nature but we don't know how to market it. Nature alone isn't enough.

One of my favorite hills for those times "when I don't feel like going higher", I tried today also as an evening cooldown.
And it worked out great. If you start at Ljubelj after 6pm, the path to Dom na Zelenici and then to the summit is all in shade and nice cool.

I met surprisingly few people. Just two Frenchmen at the hut, one nice hiker below the summit, and one overtook me on the way back.

I hoped a bit for a nice sunset but I was way too late (8pm on top).
On the summit I waited for dusk and the real chill smelling of autumn, then down with headlamp. Mostly on macadam so as not to "break" too much in the dark on the occasionally tricky marked path.

Below Vrtača hut I sat a bit, enjoyed the cool, tried to catch shooting stars but didn't get as many as promised these days.

Evening Zgornji Plot is a super choice for these awful days, way better than sweating in the (over)hot apartment in the evening and grumbling about the heat. Will go again at such an hour.

Would it be possible to change this topic title to Ljubeljšica, since Triangel no longer exists - all ski lifts removed.
