You see quite a few of them and not only in wildlife and pasture areas. It's true that someone who has culture and at least a bit of consideration for fellow humans and other animals in the forest and mountains will respect that without warning. For those who don't have it, a hundred warnings are useless! In the above entry on my blog, I mentioned two examples of how abroad they convey this to people in a more interesting and even slightly humorous way. Without fear that such communication would make the warning less effective. Here where humor and friendliness are seen as weakness and permissiveness, we have to do it the old way. Maybe the best would be: "Keep your dog on a leash and prove you're literate!"

As a responsible dog owner, it seems logical to me to leash the dog where there's a sign, even though it never chases wildlife or harasses anyone. You hardly bother it, it enjoys running freely and enjoying just like me... But it seems to me that you're quite impatient, both towards people and animals. I've walked quite a few hills and such "quick course" signs are quite rare. The law is quite clear, the dog must be on a leash in public places, in the wilderness under control. Whenever someone comes towards me, the dog is at my heel, just as it would be on a leash. I've obviously been lucky so far, as I only meet friendly people. Apparently I really go to different hills than others... I believe there are other cases too, but that the dog stays home because of a few impatient people...

You also meet owners whose dogs run around freely, so there's no talk of any control with them. You meet the dog on the path, then half a kilometer later the owner. Mostly in Slovenia. Not only is it not fair to fellow humans and animals, dangers lurk in the wilderness for the dog too. And if something happens to the latter, of course everything else is to blame, just not him. Abroad where culture in general (and thus dog culture too) is on a much higher level, it's mostly as you say. If the dog is unleashed, it's next to the owner to supervise it. And the law is the law, culture is something else. What all I could do that no law forbids and thus really get on people's nerves. But I don't do it because I see no sense in it. I don't feel the need to vent frustrations on others, if they arise I have other ways (hills are one of them) that don't burden my surroundings.

About dogs-they have furry ears. And one more thing-there are no uneducated dogs, period. Uneducated and uncultured can only be their owners.

I think this topic was opened by a lady who was asking where she can go with her four-legged friend, so she was asking for opinions and not looking for someone to lecture her on what's allowed and what not... Horrible, isn't it, someone wants to enjoy nature with their dog. So: if anyone knows locations where you can enjoy with your dog in peace, please, otherwise this is topic cluttering.... I'll say goodbye with a colleague's opinion from the first page: The only animal that's disturbing in nature is human. And no animal has done as much damage to nature as humans.

Is the topic "Where to go with a dog?" really such a sensitive issue that it needs a red message next to it? I suggest that the editor also reviews all other messages before posting, if he's already taking time for those about dogs.

It's sensitive A bit higher up there's writing about electronic devices, where there's no word about where to go, let alone about dogs, and it just stays on this page But a day or two ago I reminded of something someone wrote on the initial pages of this section and wasn't published at all

I too, before when it was in red letters, couldn't write anything under this topic If they color birds and animal behavior in red too, then bye bye hribi.net

Only one "generator" of intolerance to dogs is on these pages . . . only one, others express agreement or disagreement with dogs in mountains tolerantly and rationally, even argued.

@mirank: With that I agree. @Redneck: people just have the right to their opinion. The first who strayed from the topic was already the fourth post on the first page. And it wasn't me, although he constantly accuses me of it, precisely that one who whines how we're straying from the topic, but in reality he himself constantly writes nonsense there that has no connection with 'Where to go with a dog' and which the administrators have to keep deleting and because of which the topic was moderated too. "Generator" of intolerance on the forum anyway!

hehe yeah, for this exoticism we have to go to the zoo - cows, sheep, dogs, cats, only the fool's selfie is missing

Maybe not so much with us yet, but abroad unfortunately it's already like that, that children (especially those from urban environments) have to go to the zoo if they want to see ordinary farm animals like cows, sheep, horses,... In my time they weren't there yet, now they are also in our zoos. That domestic animals are actually becoming exotica in developed countries is evidenced by the fact that in Bavaria (otherwise still quite rural region) they asked randomly selected children to draw a cow and a third drew it purple!
