To Zelenica for coffee and back. Icy, cold and very, very windy. In the Tržič area it even snowed this morning. But on the pictures it looks okay.

Yesterday afternoon it snowed in the Zelenica area and a bit more than 1 cm of snow fell. Since it's icy under the new snow in many places, I recommend crampons.

Avalanche danger in the Zelenica area is 3rd degree on the five-level European scale.

Overnight, 30 to 50 cm of snow fell in the Zelenica area (depending on altitude). Snowfall was accompanied by S-SW wind up to 40 km/h. The wind transported snow and built wind slabs and cornices. Even with minor load you can trigger a dry loose snow avalanche on these parts.

New snow fell on hard icy old snow cover in places. On these parts, new snow is poorly bonded to the old snow cover.
On steeper terrain spontaneous sliding can be expected.

Due to low temperatures the new snow will slowly transform and settle.
Today moderate S wind will blow, transporting new snow and building new slabs and cornices. During the day up to 15 cm of dry snow can fall. Air temperature around -5 °C.

I'd say that in this part 30cm or less fell, because the bushes and other low vegetation above Vrtača hut are still not fully covered.
