‼General avalanche danger in the Zelenica area is 3rd level on the five-level European scale‼
From yesterday to today, up to about 35 cm of dry snow fell at 1500 m.a.s.l. In places snow fell on hard frozen ground. On sunny slopes snow fell on icy hard grassy or other ground. Snow did not bond with the ground, so there is higher avalanche risk even with minor load in these areas. Elsewhere above 1500 m snow fell on old icy snow base. It could not bond there either. Slopes over 30° inclination are especially dangerous. ‼Avoid walking under these slopes too‼
Snowfall was accompanied by wind up to 20 km/h, which transported snow in places and built drifts and cornices.
Due to low temperatures snow won't transform today. Air temp at 2000 m around -5°C, at 1000 m around -2°C. At 1500 m south wind up to 10 km/h.
In coming days expect more precipitation. Above about
1500 m snowing.
‼Due to expected thaw and rain below 1500 m, avalanche danger may increase‼
In high mountains snow will stay, lower it will melt some.

Above about 1300 m.a.s.l. 50 cm new snow fell overnight. There the avalanche danger is HIGH‼‼.
Below 1300 m 3rd level avalanche danger, in places possibly higher.
All slopes regardless of aspect, over 30° in Tržič municipality area above 1300 m.a.s.l. dangerous.
Spontaneous avalanching possible.
Current air temp at Zelenica -3°C, snow temp at snowpack height on shady slope -3.5°C. Currently heavy snowing. Up to evening another up to 20 cm dry snow possible.
‼Avalanche conditions dangerous, please do not go to areas with annual avalanche paths‼

Today's afternoon Zelenica and jump out of fog to Begunjščica.
Conditions from Šentanc up so-so, poorly trodden snow still sinks, mostly soft base. From ridge onwards snow blown, only little left for sample.
