The saddle is located in country Austria 8 km northeast from the center of Glor-Berg and 9 km west-northwest from the center of Winkl. The nearest mountain hut is Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte, located 1.0km west-northwest. bivouac Glocknerbiwak is also relatively close. 3 km east of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 0.5 km north-northwest from the saddle there is glacier Hofmannskees, 1.5 km west from the saddle there is also glacier Ködnitzkees.
