The saddle is located in country Austria 5 km west-southwest from the center of Winkl and 7 km west from the center of Heiligenblut and 3 km north-northeast of peak Gridenkarköpfe. The nearest mountain hut is Glorerhütte, located 3km west. A little further is bivouac Gernot-Röhr-Biwak. 4 km north of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 6 km northwest from the saddle there is glacier Hofmannskees, 6 km northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Ködnitzkees. The saddle is located above the valley Gössnitztal.
