Freiwand is 2371 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km northeast from the center of Glor-Berg and 5 km northeast from the center of Großdorf. The nearest mountain hut is Lucknerhütte, located 0.8km northeast. bivouac Figerschupfe is a bit further away. 6 km northeast of the peak there is lake Sandersee. 4 km north from the summit there is glacier Teischnitzkees, 4 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Ködnitzkees.
