Medelscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2676 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 3 km south of peak Blaue Köpfe. The nearest mountain hut is Glorerhütte, located 0.9km east. And bivouac Rübezahlhütte is also close by. 5 km northeast of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 4 km north from the saddle there is glacier Hofmannskees, 4 km north-northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Ködnitzkees. The saddle is located above the valley Ködnitztal.
