Hinterer Murauerkopf is 2821 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 2 km east-southeast of peak Weinflaschenkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Veitbaueralm, located 3km northeast. A little further is Brandtneralm. 3 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Weißsee. 1.5 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Schapperebenkees, 3 km northwest from the summit there is also glacier Mölltaler Gletscher. The peak is located north of the valley Fragant.
