Königskogel is 3050 meter high peak in the Natural Park Gruppo di Tessa. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Zwickauer Hütte - Rifugio Plan, located 6km south-southwest. A bit closer is Rabensteiner Alm, which is located 5km to the east-northeast. 3 km south from the summit there is glacier Hochfirstferner, 3 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Westlicher Seeber Ferner. West-northwest of the summit is the valley Gurgler Tal. The peak is located on the ridge Ötztaler Hauptkamm - Cresta principale Alpi Venoste, more specifically, on the ridge Königsgrat.
