On Friday, 17.4.2009 I'm heading to this area of Slovenia and I'm interested in the drivability of the road to Valvasor Hut - how far can you drive by car?
Thanks for the info!
Regards Igor

Hello!

I'm interested in current conditions on the mentioned trail, is the path trodden?

Thanks for answers and best regards.

BGODAR, can we meet if you're going 20th and 21st Aug? We Styrians also go from Kota to Triglav on Tuesday and Wednesday to watch sunset, and full moon at the same time.

Matej, on Sunday, 9.6.2013 we did a circular tour Planica - Dom v Tamarju - past Črnih vod to Slemenovo špico and through the gully back to the start. In the gully by Črnih vod there is still quite a few meters of snow, but you can walk nicely without crampons as the snow is appropriately soft. Also on the Sleme and below Mojstrovka there is still plenty of snow which doesn't cause big problems, just need good waterproof shoes, then it's ok. No worry, just happily on the way.

Aina, if the children are fit and can walk about 7 hours throughout the day, then I warmly recommend the following wonderful circular path: Ljubelj pass - through Bornov tunnel to pl. Preval-a (good hour walk; pl. Preval-a - Roblekov dom (hour and a half walk); Roblekov dom - top of Begunjščica (good hour walk); from the top back to the junction - Zelenica (about hour and a half walk); Zelenica - Ljubelj (less than hour walk). And safe steps to you and enjoy the views of the surrounding peaks.

I'm interested if anyone has been to Montaž in the last days via Pipan's ladder. On July 1, Štajerci plan to go on this tour, I've unofficially heard that the path to Montaž is damaged?! Thanks for information

Mukica, the path to Veliko Špičje from 7 lakes and further to Prehodavce is really ZZ classified, but for experienced hikers far from that. In dry conditions (dry rocks) the path is demanding and very nicely laid out. If the terrain is wet, then it really becomes somewhat more demanding, but far from needing self-belaying. So, if you've already hiked some of our higher peaks, then no worries and happy trails up there, because in nice weather the views offered are ones you won't forget easily. Good luck and safe steps.

Frank45, in my opinion the best is if on the second day you head along the Triglav Lakes valley to Zasavska hut at Prehodavci, quickly refresh yourself and climb towards Hribarice to the junction for Vrata. From Vrata saddle up to both Zelnarice, past Kopica to M. Tičarica and down to Ovčarija plain, then to Bregarjev shelter at Viševnik plain. From Viševnik plain down to seventh Triglav lake Črno jezero and over Komarča to Savica. If you're in good condition you'll manage the path b.p., all marked too. I wish you lots of enjoyment. Igor

On ascent I think no more snow. On descent to Kocbek hut there are still some snowfields, but they cause no problems, so happily on the way. No need for ice axe or crampons. We were on 11 June from planina Ravne, didn't use ice axe or crampons cuz snow was such you could nicely "ski" with boots on it.

Interested if anyone went these days to Ojstrica via Kocbek path over Mala Ojstrica. Are there still snowfields on the way. On Friday 11.6. planning with friend from planina Ravne up this path to Ojstrica summit.
Thanks for replies.
Nice mountain greeting

Yes, one can ski through the valley, but from Mali polje down it's a shame for skis - little snow!

Today three Styrians made the ascent to Kredarica from Krma. Road drivable without problems to the end - to the parking lot. Now a good track is made through the whole path. We had some problems on the ascent on the scree below Rž (sinking up to the last butt cheek), otherwise it went without problems, didn't need crampons either. Up to approx. 2200 m cloudy, foggy with light snowfall - higher sunny and real idyll - real winter fairy tale. As proof I'm attaching some photos.
PS - must praise the "weather tandem" at Kredarica (Janez and Zvone), they were very friendly, and also brewed us good tea.
Highly recommend to all those who are additionally motivated by trudging through snow, wind and low temperatures, to drop by up there.

Is the road to Kovinarska hut well drivable - for all passenger cars, even those a bit lower. Interested also if the path to Kredarica from the top of "streets" (as triglavski wrote) is passable without major problems without snowshoes. Interested because we three Styrians plan to climb for the last time this year to the foot of our Father - maybe even to the summit?!
Thanks for info.

This year too the Hike on Jurčič's Path is first Saturday in March - so 7.3.09!
About the path itself: start in Višnja Gora and it climbs at first towards Polževo, where organizers provide various refreshments, then short ascent to the church of the Holy Spirit, path then gently descends to Male Vrh village, where black kitchen is on display - and refreshments too, then further descent to the church of St. John the Baptist, path then brings us without much effort to Jurčič homestead, where hike ends, with short program, and food and drinks not missing. Path done in 3-4 hours, maybe sooner - depending how long we stay at stops! Let me tell you, last year I did this hike - started at 8:15 and arrived at Jurčič homestead at 12, but we stayed quite long at stops. Also, it's one of the most visited hikes in Slovenia, where you can meet some big shot from Slovenian politics!
Nice regards and join the hike, you won't regret!

Hello! On Wednesday, 15.10.08 my friend and I plan to do Kamniška Bistrica - Kokrsko sedlo - Grintavec - both Kočni - Kokrsko sedlo - Kamniška Bistrica, wondering if anyone did this route these days to hear firsthand if winter gear needed or still snow around Kočna! Thanks a lot for info and nice mountaineering autumn!

But on the second picture there is a nicely compressed silhouette of King Matjaž's face. Sorry TADEJ, I mistakenly attributed the source of the pictures to Fleksarca.
