At the beginning of July I would go to Piz Boe with friends. Most likely we'll choose the easier route (no via ferratas). I'm wondering if anyone knows the conditions on this path (snow, any other peculiarities, ...) Thanks in advance for the reply velik nasmeh

13.8.09 to Belopeška Lakes. Path continued towards Zacchi hut and soon reached it. From there we headed to Ponca bivouac, rested a bit and set off to the top of Little Ponca. In the last part of the path some caution is needed, as the path is full of scree that makes uphill difficult, even more downhill. Among low junipers in final ascent need to search for the path which is poorly traceable, meaning this peak isn't overly visited. Even that day from bivouac on we met no one, so we enjoyed nice day and full peace. At Zacchi hut full of people, showing it's interesting excursion spot. Nives and Branči smile

I too came to the Dovška Rožca alpine pasture on 28.6.2011. When I wanted to continue from the hut towards Dovška Baba, the bull charged at me. He was all slobbery and bellowed threateningly. Although I'm used to animals, I saw there's no joke with him, so I retreated back to the hut plateau. When the caretaker distracted him with a treat, I could quickly continue the path, and not towards Dovška Baba, but I rather headed to Gubno. When I returned later, luckily he was at the other end of the pasture. In conversation with the friendly caretaker, I learned that the bull had a bad day, and otherwise he's not aggressive zmeden And also the warning sign was then only at the main gate on the road, while on other parts where it's possible to reach the pasture, there wasn't. So visitors to this end, pay attention to this bull, because especially if he spots you on the road, since he's very unpredictable.

Nice sunny morning accompanied us on Sunday 28. 3. 2010 on the drive to Ljubelj, as we were headed to Kofce. At Matizovec there were already quite a few cars parked. We quickly changed shoes, prepared and set off. Although Nives was only on her first tour this year, she performed well. After a good hour of walking we were at the hut. There were several visitors in front of the hut and inside it. Nevertheless, we were able to sit on the nicely cleaned benches in front of the hut and surrender to the warm sun rays. Some headed further towards Veliki vrh, but not many. I went towards the cross and further to Kofce gora. Since I didn't intend to go to any peak, I turned after about 30 minutes and returned to the hut. The snow, south-facing due to the strong sun, sank considerably. After a good snack we said goodbye to the friendly warden and happily headed down to the valley. I hope there will be many such nice days this year too.velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Hello. Tomorrow I would head to Dovška Baba, so I'm interested in what the conditions for walking are like in this area. Do I still constantly need winter gear, how far can you drive with a vehicle. Thanks for answers and LPvelik nasmeh

15.3.2010 I headed to Pokljuka again hoping for a nice sunny day like over the weekend. Cloudy, quite gloomy weather awaited me. What was satisfactory was the peaceful silence, just me, snow-covered mountains and cloudy sky letting sun rays through now and then. To Blejska hut path good, from it to Lipansko sedlo ok if not stepping out of track, same from saddle on. On Okroglje strong cold north wind awaited me, whistling around unprotected ears. It followed me to just below Debela Peč summit, where 10 min below I turned back to Blejska hut. At hut drank tea and went to Mrežce. There almost no wind, but less sun than to Debela Peč. Despite cold wind stopping me at summit (really froze my ears), nice active day, had to get back to car parked at Mrzli Studenec.

On this part yesterday there were no signs indicating sloughing, nor were traces of old avalanches visible. Of course, caution is never too much!!

Yesterday 8.2.2010 on Viševnik. Snow ground under feet almost whole way so walking quite strenuous. If went with skis instant to waist in snow or deeper. Little below summit snow blown off what left smooth and icy some places so small crampons recommended at least. Unfortunately left them in carzadrega. Still nice daynasmeh Branči

After a long time, today 3.1.2010 was again my day (Nives stayed home due to heat), as I could head to the hills in nice weather. I chose Porezen as goal, where I was once but don't remember it due to bad weather. I left the car at parking by local road in Davča, since I couldn't go further on the forest road due to snow, which extended the route quite a bit. Still progressed well. In nice weather reached junction where path turns to shepherd hut. Didn't follow that (snowed in) but continued to Porezen over Mederce summit and then along ridge straight to top or monument. There caution was needed as icy slabs under snow perfect for slipping. Though slope steep, I managed and arrived at summit in under 3 hours. At top cold wind blowing, softened by warm sun. Due to nice weather clear view of nearby hills, and surrounding and distant mountains. Hope many such days this year.

Yesterday 31.10.2009 after a long time back in the mountains. From the cargo cable car we headed towards the Czech Hut. Although it was dry, caution is needed on the forest path as leaves cover frozen roots. Also the steps that are a great help in summer were frozen and very slippery. From the Czech Hut we headed towards Vratca. Rocks on the scree were very slippery due to frost, and the fixed cables were very cold and slippery too. Although we were looking for sun all the time, we didn't catch it as it was only on the tops of surrounding mountains. Although we could only look at the sun and not feel it, it was very nicenasmeh Branči and Nives

Hello. I also must congratulate all who did such magnificent work. Thank you. As long as there are such among us, we don't need to fear for our beautiful mountains. Once again thanks and bravo!!!

16.8.2008 we headed from Planina Podvežak towards Korošica. Despite lots of sun and hot already in morning the path was very nice. Along the way we admired mountains surrounding our path and figured their names. With lots of good mood we reached Kocbekov dom. There we changed and continued towards Ojstrica. Path was due to sun heat, lots of scree and many visitors quite strenuous, yet also nice. First time helmet came handy as occasionally a stone flew triggered unintentionally by visitors returning from top. Lots of people both on top and at hut. It was a nice day. Nives and Brančinasmeh

Apart from that, while being followed from higher positions accessible only to them they send some stone your way, I haven't experienced them plotting anything against me. It's true though that with my behavior I didn't threaten them.nasmeh

5.8.2009 we headed from Kluže fortress towards the summit. Stop and view of Fort Herman and on through the forest. This path had no end. Nice view of neighboring Jerebica from viewpoint. When we get out of the forest through tall grass again to rocky remains of WWI. Short break here too and view of them and on to summit. At saddle or part where little climb needed Nives waits due to leg pain, so I continue alone. Not for long, as black threatening cloud appeared above summit. Since thunderstorm surprised us once in mountains and since then I'm "big careful" I turned back just below summit, returned to Nives so we went back to Kluže together. Nothing came from cloud, so my fear and stopping ascent just below summit was totally unnecessary. No problem, we'll return another time. Nives and Branči
