On Monday I arrive by bus to Mojstrana and start walking towards Vrata where after about 2 km a friendly gentleman stops and takes me right to Aljažev dom. There they were already preparing for the summer season. The original plan was to go towards Dolkova špica, but that changed as at about 1700m there was a quite steep snow crossing, so I rather went towards Stenar. The snow was quite south-facing and sank good 20 cm. Shortly after I reach the top of the gully I decide not to go further because the snow was completely sun-exposed. So I go back towards the valley via Sovatna which was still nicely snow-covered in the upper part. In the bivouac under Luknja there were no mattresses or blankets, so the night was quite hard and cold. The next day I also didn't have that luck and had to walk all 11 km to the bus.

Morning train to Jesenice then bus to Kranjska Gora. There first hop to shop and already rushing up the steep. Snow from start, but all trodden, no problem (only for down maybe little crampons would help cause icy patches). My "base camp" 50m below summit. Night temps around -5, but biggest issue morning putting on frozen boots. Then to home some running as I caught the bus and 5h drive home.

Bovec - sleep on Laška Planja peak - Skutnik - Žaga

On Monday around noon in the worst heat this year I start from AP Bovec up the road to Gozdec. Due to heavy backpack and lack of shade, I made breaks almost every 10 minutes. Thus, to the parking lot took almost 2.5 hours. There I eat a bit and head towards Kanin. At the spring a little water was flowing but enough to continue the tour (if empty I would probably have to turn back). Another good hour of walking on a nice path and I was at GRS bivouac. There finally views open to the majestic Kanin mountains. While walking on the slopes I could listen to the marmot whistling for a good minute, warning of danger. After the junction to VLP the path moves to the ridge where some easy climbing is needed. When I reach the summit I build a windbreak, watch the sunset and finally a chamois came to greet goodnight. Otherwise I planned to watch Perseids from the summit, but after moonset I ran out of energy in 5 minutes. I wake up a little before sunrise, take a few pictures and fall asleep again for a good hour. Next day I pack and go down the south ridge. The path is quite demanding for descent but slowly doable. I descend to the bivouac and continue to Skutnik. There I noticed I had only half a liter left, which was tricky for descent to Žaga at 30+ degrees. When I reach the valley I go to the shop to buy something and take the bus and train home.

Špik from Kranjska Gora

Since I live relatively far and no car yet, high mountain visits quite difficult. So decide for all-night tour to Špik. Start at 11pm via Vršič road to Russian Cross then left to Koča v Krnici. In gully some trouble following in dark but no major issues. Path without peculiarities, just missed trail a bit below Lipnica. Summit quite cloudy, not much view east. Stayed half hour more on top then rushed down Kačji graben to catch bus. Total 23km and good 1800m gain.

About 2 weeks ago, sleeping on top of Begunjščica.
Start from ŽP Žirovnica and past the lake up Završnica valley. After quite some time turned right up to Tomčeva koča. From there via usual past Roblek to summit. Quite windy so built windbreak from stones. Back via Poljska planina bit further on ridgelet and down to Titova vas, where path poorly visible. Up good 5 hrs, down 3.5.

On Sunday Kokrska Kočna from Suhadolnik.
Road to the start in good condition and I started at 6.30. At the beginning along the road and then towards the pasture via Taška. From there steeply left, a bit overgrown but nothing serious. On the traverse there are a couple of somewhat exposed spots, so this path isn't exactly for the dizzy. When I was walking on Srednji Dolci the summit was still in the sun, but when I got under the gully thick fog came. In the climbing section there's quite some scree, which is tricky on descent. A bit below the summit I had to cross a small snow patch, which will probably be dry in a week. No views from the top, and I returned the same way, just below the pasture I took the easy path.

Overnight on Struska summit, 29.-30.

Start from Jesenice past Kalvarija to Križevec. Snow started on road at turnoff to Belska planina (most probably cleared now). From planina up a gully, old path to bushes. There sinking to knees with 15kg backpack. To summit in about 5 hours. Windy, made small snow wall. Night about 5 degrees. Next day to Križevec same path, then right to Črni vrh and Planina pod Golico.

Somewhere in the Soča area?

Hudajužna-Matajur Peak-Črna prst-Boh. Bistrica

Saturday morning by car to Gorica, hop on train to Hudajužna. From station go a bit further on main road to turnoff for Stržišče. Just before village turn left. On nice trackable macadam to Sanek, pause there. Above hunter's hut path poorly visible but can't miss as it's mulatiera from above. Little further to cairn marking path to ridge. Path nicely cut into scree, on grass ends. Could go up gully but snow rotten, so rather beside it on scree. On ridge end of the heat due to the wind. Towards summit still snow, so crampons for last 50m. After short break towards Črna prst. Expected more visitors there but none. For descent chose gully path as summer one still fully snowy.
End of day 23km and 1750m ascent

Boh. Bistrica-Vogar-Planina pri Jezeru-Dedno polje-hudičev most-Boh. Bistrica

With the train I arrive at seven to Bistrica, from where first 8km warm-up to Stara Fužina awaits me. There I go to Mercator for food supplies, and continue to Vogar on a steep path that was pretty wet and slippery. At the hut I eat a panini and go on. I had some trouble finding the turn-off for Planina pri Jezeru because I went up the hill too early on some track, but with GPS help soon found the path. Snow starts approx at 1200, where the turn-off for Planina Blato is. Some folks with snowshoes were ahead so it only sank a little for me. No problems reached Dedno polje, but due to heavy snowing decided best to turn back. Return to Vogar same way, there turned left to "gentle", and went to see a bit of Mostnica gorge. Otherwise tour done for most, but I had to end pounding asphalt in winter boots for some 1.5 hours.
End of day 36km and 1200nmv

A little before seven I arrived at the parking in Zadnjica. From there on the usual path towards Kriški Podi. Snow starts somewhere at 1300 m. At approx 1600 avalanche covered the mulattiera (continued directly up the gully where winter gear is mandatory since snow is very hardpacked). Back I went where the path should be, as it was safer, but it meant snow collapsed to my waist several times. Up took three and a half hours down two. When I got back down there were some cars parked all the way to the end of the valley.
