I'm wondering if Ivanji vrh above Iški Vintgar is even accessible? There's no path to it on the maps, but from the couch it doesn't look too far from the path. How is it in reality, on the terrain, has anyone maybe walked around there?

My friend and I have set ourselves the goal to climb at least 10 two-thousanders this year (mainly choosing the easiest accesses), and I'm wondering, on which trails does the snow melt first according to your experiences?

Thanks turbo, we went personally to check the conditions up therenasmeh. I haven't encountered such crowds of people even on Golica during the peak narcissus blooming! Crazy. And quite uncomfortablevelik nasmeh. Otherwise yes, the snow on the paths is well packed and holds, although it's already quite soft. The path itself does serve up a meter of ice here and there, but the crampons didn't seem necessary to us and stayed in the backpack, although 95% of the hikers put them on for the descent, and many also for the ascent. After this and the previous weekend, I've had enough of these "must go" variants for quite a whilevelik nasmeh.

Has anyone been up there today? What are the conditions like? Is the path icy? Is it already (heavily) breaking through up there?

Today on Mala planina slightly windy, on the path from Stahovica already quite hot. The snow is rotten and sinks significantly. Today not a single foot stayed dry, no matter what someone had on their feetvelik nasmeh. It's nice up there!

Biggest thanks to all for opinions and advice. I'll report what we chose (this Sunday we ended up deciding for Velika planinanasmeh).

Hi! Please give advice, which path to Uršlja gora would be the best choice tomorrow? That means safe and trodden mežikanje? I've been up only once, from Andrejev dom. Would that one do or is another more recommended?

Road to Planina Blato still open, right?

@Tomco, on the sign by that cave it says: Kocbekova Slovenian mountaineering path to Ojstrica (in pic. 12 in skala123's post). It also "confused" me on maPZS that the classic marked path via Mala Ojstrica is marked as Kocbekova path.

@zokipoki - is that the jump in pic. 15 by skala123?

@skala123, excellent timingmežikanje, super photos!

Shortly before arriving at the chapel on Molička planina from the direction of Korošica, we come across markings for Kocbek's Slovenian mountaineering path to Ojstrica (besides the marking on the stone there is also a signboard, which I didn't photograph). The path markings are also visible, although not exactly according to PZS standards. The path is drawn as unmarked also in the apps (maPZS, Locus). But I can't find any information about this path. Has anyone walked it? Traceability? Difficulty?

Julius, thanks for the explanation regarding hut ownership. But, if I understand correctly, such "mountain posts" should honor PZS discounts?
Enka6. 09. 2025 11:18:24
On the PZS site it says that Vesna Rateče d.o.o. rents the hut. So probably the hut is not sold, but just rented out. Which means it's still owned by PZS. I don't know if it's OK that in such case discount can't be used. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask PZSmežikanje.

@dprapr, you say that those who want always free polished paths can sign up as path markers or volunteers. I don't know if you're entirely right. I pay PZS membership fee. Every year. I don't go to huts and my motto isn't discount, but respect for someone taking care of path maintenance. And PZS should do that with money from members. And therefore must find a way to ensure it. If there are no more path markers because they don't want to work voluntarily anymore, then another way must be found. That's why I think criticism of poor path maintenance is justified, and PZS is legally responsible for it.

The most beautiful loop to Skuta in my opinion is up via Žmavčarje and descent to the other side and past Cojzova koča back to the valley.

The path from Češka koča to Mlinarsko sedlo is harder than Žrelo on Storžič.

I also admired the newborn in picture 14 today. And got caught in the crowd at Bled toozadrega.

Alessio, thanks for the info!

If you're going to Kočna, it doesn't make sense to go via Umik Žrela path, as that would be an unnecessary detour.

You won't be alone even at an earlier time, since people walk this way to Triglav.
