Yesterday, Friday 26.12.2025, I started at 13h from Kranj towards Ljubelj and higher towards the sun. Below it still looked bad regarding the sun, but the satisfaction at the summit was all the greater, as I was greeted by the sun, admittedly with wind and beautiful glories in the distance.
Up Šentanec, I put on crampons soon when the steeper incline starts, snow on top 5 to 10 cm on a hard base that mostly holds a person's weight. Down via the central gully, which is much more trodden, and to the deserved beer at Dom na Zelenici.

At saddle Čez Potoče there is also spring between Griva and Lemež, where during WWI soldiers went for water. Italians from Griva and Austro-Hungarians from Lemež. Here truce applied.

From Soriska you don't need crampons, but snowshoes are recommended.

Greg83, I recommend skis. Used snowshoes twice and then stuck on skis. Faster and easier up, down is poetry.

Yesterday's ascent required quite some energy even on skis, since the snow below was completely wet, higher towards the top a bit less. But it was a day where spruce beauties were in the foreground before the lens...

Today's afternoon Zelenica and jump out of fog to Begunjščica.
Conditions from Šentanc up so-so, poorly trodden snow still sinks, mostly soft base. From ridge onwards snow blown, only little left for sample.

Yesterday's afternoon jump to Viševnik.
Enough snow, path already nicely trodden, just occasionally postholing here and there. A bit above Plesišče inversion softens snow but not too much. But below summit on steep grassy part huge slab of snow cover, just a matter of time when it releases and comes down...
