Where do most Jeseničans lie... In Čop's pillar. What is the area between the hole and the ass called? I'm no geographer, but I call it OPA!...

Joža Čop: "I'm lying on granny, and constantly looking through the hole into the ass."

Don't get upset, it's just "training". Equipment is paid separately. Plus transport, paperwork and snacks. So the training is peanuts compared to the rest

@Jus, do the AIs get paid now, or is it still all on a volunteer basis? Best, d

24 years ago the course price was 16 dinars, 15 years ago a mere 600 tolars = 26.78€

It's been so long ago that I don't remember the details anymore. I know I paid 60 or 600 tolars then, which is today's 26.78€, in short, some spare change in the pocket.

According to Wikipedia, 1 dinar was then worth as much as the parallel currency 1 mark in Montenegro. That means 24 years ago the alpinism course cost 16 marks or 8€.

Yeah, where have the years gone? I remember the first alpinism course in Vikrče back then, where they were very happy for every new mountaineer in their ranks. I showed up there without even money with me, and they said: Membership doesn't matter, just sit here with us and listen, we're all family here. Now clients almost do A (driving school) in the alpinism course .

I think they called it - AO Turnc- in Vikrče under Šmarna gora, like the later AO Rašica in Šentvid, where they moved from Vikrče to the current premises of the cultural home in Šentvid.

Some really operate on the principle: Optimalka 20 years - maybe someday a promising alpinist, they invest a lot in him, others... clearly said at many ferajn meetings, young welcome, old out! And for the vast majority it all falls apart and then they "peddle" various courses. But whoever decides for AŠ and intends to engage in it later (not necessarily a Himalayan alpinist someday), won't regret the money, as in return you get so much information and knowledge... No course can compare to a QUALITY executed AŠ. But ferajn prices from the capital you don't dare look at...
