Saturday's real winter hike from planina Zajavornik to Debela peč. The path to the hut was nicely trodden, further up only individual footprints. Lots of hikers trod the path nicely over the day and on the way back it was already a nice track. More photos and description at https://gorskimoz.wordpress.com/2017/11/20/zimska-debela-pec/

I don't know that end, so I'm interested - is the road to planina Zajavornik plowed and can one start there, or do you have to start lower? Because to Medvedove konte I know you can't go by car...

The circular road from Mrzli studenec to Zajavornik, monument and on to main road is plowed.

Yesterday 9.3. like this Sport hotel - Zajavornik - Blejska - Okroglež - Brda and back. Track barely shows boot print, from Blejska right just tourer track to Debela and down from Brda. There consequently more sinking. Most annoying still the steep above Blejska full of old and new slides. Surprisingly few tourers for nice day.

What are the current conditions? Is there possibly already a packed trail? Thanks

I recommend either snowshoes or touring skis...to the hut you can go even without anything ... Note. Today walkers "tracked" Mrežce

Tomorrow I'm setting off with snowshoes and crampons from the Sport Hotel. How's the path to Debela peč looking?

Snowshoes you'll probably not need since the path is packed. I was there on Monday and didn't need crampons but it's good to have them just in case.

What about the road, is it drivable to the parking at the monument or Pl. Javornik?

The road is passable only depending on the vehicle. With low clearance it's hard, some cars turned back because of that. We left the car at the Sport Hotel.

Has anyone driven to the monument in the last days? Is the road any better? And how is it further to Debela peč or Brdo?

The road to the monument or Pl. Javornik is currently not passable for normal road cars, unless your car means nothing to you

I don't know Debela peč and surrounding peaks in winter conditions. With 3 avalanche danger level, is the path to Debela peč safe? What about Mrežce? Lipanski vrh or Viševnik? Does anyone know how the path to the monument is - already snow-free? Thanks, LP; P.

Debela peč is, regarding the terrain configuration on the path from the avalanche safety viewpoint (and otherwise), a very safe mountain. Just follow the path nicely and everything will be ok.

Has anyone been to Brda, Debela peč, how much snow is left, does it sink in a lot?, weather will be divine, views too, just if suitable due to snow depth for tomorrow, or plan this path for Sunday ?

Yesterday I spoke with the gentleman from Blejska koča. He says there is 1m of snow on Pokljuka, about 2m at the hut, and 3m on the surrounding peaks. We're going tomorrow to check; hope it won't sink too much.
