On Saturday we're thinking of Debela peč. Avalanche danger there supposedly minimal? Or safer on Mrežice? Is it trodden enough for walkers? We have no skis nor snowshoes.

How's the path? A colleague wants me to take him up, but he has no winter gear... I have all my gear plus ice axe and micro crampons/chains for him. Possible? I know the path, but I haven't been there this winter.

Path under your feet and go. At least to Jože in the hut on Planina Lipanca you'll get there. Paths are trodden.

Up to Okroglež without a problem with small crampons and without ice axe, critical is the section from Okroglež to the top of Debela peč. If icy, crampons and ice axe are necessary there.

Sebastijan2020, if you mean a tour just with crampons, then leave even those at home. We always carry crampons in combination with an ice axe!

if you don't go, you don't know. Get properly equipped and go. You won't be alone, there are always some people there, and if something doesn't suit you, just turn around. In any case you can reward or comfort yourself with a cream slice lower by the lake

As some have already written, the side roads on Pokljuka are completely icy and it's probably best to park at the Sport Hotel.
We of course didn't consider that, so we parked right under the first slope and watched a sideways placed car that couldn't go neither forward nor back. On the road I recommend spikes, to Blejska koča ice/snow, further hard snow.
Since we parked far, we did cca 24km - nice conditioning tour.

Always, when I go to Debela peč, I start from the Šport Hotel.
Then I really need to get stuff for kilometers.
24 kilometers, a good achievement. Then it is even more from the Hotel.
Well, we have already walked more than 40 km in one tour, of course plus ascents.
I hope Debela peč will be on the schedule next weekend.

For tomorrow I plan to take the day off and treat myself to the ascent on Debela peč.
The weather should be dreamy, before thunderstorms come again.
