Hehehehe, well that's not a bad camera... Generally, a bad photographer even with a super-duper camera for 3000€ won't make good pictures. And vice versa velik nasmeh

what now, you wanted one with crazy zoom. Don't make excuses about the pocket, the tailor will sew you a big enough one, custom made.

@Hribovc88: I own the HX20V/B and I can tell you it's really excellent camera. In October it was still 70eur more expensive. For that price I think you don't have to think twice. I'm not saying the other mentioned models are bad - you'll be fine with all..

I also had the Panasonic Lumix TZ30 in mind, but based on what I read online I decided for Sony HX20V/B, I think correctly. nasmeh

The SX50 mentioned above is surely excellent, but we can't compare it to the mentioned models already because of size.

I also like this Sony a lot, but I just got a message from ZS that I shouldn't buy it because image quality is terriblezmedeneek

I hope that the one who wrote that image quality is terrible owns the camera and didn't just test it for 5min in the store (we're talking about the Sony you linked - HX20V). nasmehUsually it's like that - everyone knows everything, but usually no one owns the devices (they form opinions from online device tests that often don't lead to correct conclusions). If you're interested, send me ZS and I'll send you some reference images. Otherwise you probably need it just for mountains, but it performs excellently (really excellently) also in indoor spaces. I can't give an opinion on Lumix TZ30 because I haven't tested it live.

For comments look here (both for TZ30 and HX20V there are many positive and negative opinions - see "Your comments" section):

Whichever of these two you buy you won't go wrong. As said, I chose exactly between these two models and picked HX20V. Did I do right? I don't know for sure because I didn't have chance to test TZ30.velik nasmeh

@Irina: But I can compare with Panasonic TZ7 that you mentioned. Indoors, HX20V really beat it. Which is not unusual, since TZ7 is a bit older model of similar price range. But that doesn't mean TZ7 is a bad camera. Actually it was "best buy" a couple years ago for that price - meaning excellent!

In the images below you can see max zoom (so 20x optical + max digital = 40x). Quality of zoomed image is of course appropriately bad due to such large digital zoom, but in my opinion still satisfactory. Location where the image was taken you probably know (Uršlja gora).velik nasmeh

I am the owner of Sony Cyber Shot D33021 with video and panorama recording, 14.1 megapixels and despite the complete averageness of the device it is excellent for my needs, it makes good shots even in the dark and I don't know how the above mentioned Cyber Shot with 18 megapixels should be a bad camera.
