Today to Baba from Dovje. To the road junction from Dovje walking is easy, on the marked path to the pasture more and more snow, towards the top I used snowshoes. Weather sunny, wind carrying new snow so walking quite tricky.

8.6. Hruščanski vrh, Dovška Baba, Rožca saddle...Paths adorned with flowers, lots of gentian. But new elec. shepherds everywhere, shaking. Old wires tangled in grass. Descent from Hruščanski vrh to Rožca saddle like fenced border. Old and new posts and elec. shepherd wires, path in between.. Once very pleasant descent to saddle..Slope above Mokotova hut full of blooming dandelions. On Hruš. pasture livestock already grazing.

Original plan was to go to Ratitovec, but just before departure we changed it and decided for Dovška Baba. Photos show the decision was more than right.

The road is normally passable, just at two spots bigger potholes from autumn rain.

Was there last Saturday. No need even to step on snow, so no small crampons needed.

True, narcissi not so many as on Golica, but lots of other flowers.
For the icing on the cake return via direct to Erjavčev rovt.

Dovška Baba and Hruščanski vrh, approached from Špar. And the Belščice ridge towards Vajnež, also approached from Špar.

Yesterday (Wednesday, October 14) along the road on skis to Dovška Baba and back. The forecasted sunny day was a unique opportunity. Parked at the turnoff (bend), about 1200 high, five minutes walk before the gate. On the ascent I took off skis once, otherwise could ascend the road without issues. Above Dovška Rožca it was skiable to the top. Views unforgettable all the way, especially at the summit.
Snow at the pasture fence was about 25 to 30 cm, higher in sunny spots maybe a cm less. On steeper slopes towards Hruški vrh slab avalanches released despite thin snowpack. Snow on grassy slopes near top was slightly crusted, lower to Dovška Rožca pasture was south-facing. Even a bit like spring slush, soft but skiable and didn't sink much. On the wooded road, partly leaf-covered, of course rodeo left to right. Creaking sounds convinced me few hundred meters before the car to spare the skis and walk the end.
Met about ten lucky folks who probably enjoyed this sparkling day too. Given weather and other forecasts, next such chance in mountains above Mojstrana some of us probably won't get so soon.

I enjoy it, but envy a bit too. Hoped for such delights over the weekend, but will need to find some, even if different, within the region.

P. Plezalček, if I just recall excursions above Gardolski stream and around Kajert, I have no fear that you and similar climbers won't find some passage or hidden path that will offer nice views and joy besides a touch of wilderness.
The fact that our homeland is temporarily narrowed a bit can't be a serious obstacle for a curious spirit.
