On Saturday Dovška Baba offered great views and for November excellent skiing. nasmeh

Somewhere there in the distance our Snežnik is hiding.

Today to Dovška Baba. By car to last farm, then on foot along road. Already many tour skiers, on road at start hard snow, higher softer and sinks a lot.
Turned back a bit before summit due to strong wind. Back from hut part of way on marked path through forest, which sinks to knees and more. zadrega

I don't ski, snow quite south-facing, still skiable no problem, descent down road to bend before big cottage possible, saw only 2-3 tour skiers.

Today completely different story - sunny, cloudless. In higher parts (especially on those parts exposed to the sun) the thaw was strongly felt. It looks like the snow in the high mountains will finally start to transform.

In the background Rjavina and Triglav (in the clouds).

View of our beautiful peaks - among the highest are Mali and Veliki Draški vrh, Rjavina, Triglav, Stenar, Visoki Rokav, Kukova Špica, Špik, and far right (I assume) Mangart.

Yesterday quickly after shift to see what will come from Planica mežikanje

Dovška slope, sometimes better to wait under Baba too mežikanje

From first pasture gaiters on, few degrees to White Cliffs break through to touring highway. There as close as possible to edge of groomed. On clearing direct to ridge. Without excessive sinking. For summit one should sit a bit more.

Snow starts at about 1100m. Morning firm and frozen, when returning already breaking through. Last meters below summit icy. I had small crampons and it went ok. Plenty of visitors.

Today dark clouds and some raindrops chased us on Dovška Baba. But blooming meadows were balm for the soul. nasmeh

Towards Kepa the clouds are not threatening.

Today we visited Dovška Baba and Hruški vrh. Paths without features, Dovška Rožca hut open offers drinks. Expected sour milk and similar, but no food unfortunately.
Nice here, especially views to Julian Alps revive you nasmeh

28 November... Snow well whitened Baba. Snow from shoe height to over knees. First ski turns visible on slope. Snowshoes would come in handy too. Views divine, reward for winter ascent not easy on foot. Road from Baba junction quite torn, from parking to barrier even more.. nasmeh

Today Dovška Baba shone in the sun. Among hikers also cyclist and paraglider pilots. Unfortunately snow too little for skiing. Went from Dovje via Goreljše to Dovška Rožca and top. Path through forest heavily strewn with leaves, snow partly starts little below pasture.

First snow fell, so right to mountains thanking snow gods for modest white powder shipment. On Dovška Baba cover still too thin for real freeride fun, but day didn't spare fantastic views at all.
