I also congratulate you for the conquered summit of Grintavec, especially because you dedicated your effort for the ascent to Tomaž. I think you did more with this action than a thousand written words, whether grammatically correct or not. I also intend to go to Grintavec on Saturday or Sunday, depending on wind strength, and fly from the top towards the mighty walls of Grintavci, where Tomaž "mastered" and thank him that way for all the good he did for Slovenia. L.P.

pikec1: No big deal, gotta try a course, then it pulls you in by itself. It's like this, when the parachute pulls you up you gotta fly, and that's not such an art, it flies itself. If it really grabs you I'll give you a link for training that's very quality: http://www.kimfly.si/

At what altitude approx. does the snow start? Thanks for the answer.

First snow starts 150m below Cojza, only in patches, but well trodden, then at 2200 to the top. All trodden, but caution not amiss. L.P

Today I was on Grintovec from Kamniška Bistrica. Except the wooden bridge that's missing almost half , path to parking ok. Then to Cojza hut, no specialties there, but from there on wind blew all the way to top, with short calm moments. Wind was very strong, path ok, went without winter gear, poles and caution recommended as steps icy in places. Views wonderful again, sunshine and wind Nice day.

There was a total crowd up there today, at least 20 people. There will be some new snow tomorrow.

In the morning there was no crowd yet (we even saw a chamois), but it was blowing so hard that it was shifting me at times. I don't know what was going on at the hut in Kamniška Bistrica, that in the afternoon all possible parking lots were full of vehicles?

Judging by the clock in the photos, we were up there at the same time as rozka. On the Kokrško side there were only a few cars. Maybe they went to the other side to pay homage to Humar.

We all make "crowds" when we head to the mountains. I don't like crowds either, but I always tell myself it's right that others go to the mountains too. Better than shopping centers, where crowds don't bother anyone.

Yesterday there were about 30 people on Grintovec for a 6-hour hike; that's not really a "crowd" . If anywhere, it's usually from Kredarica to Triglav; if they put a mandatory "offering" on the top the situation would be quite different. Triglav is nicer in winter, and much less visited. .... "there must be a catch"!!!

From Kamniška direction parking is currently not possible at the lower cable car station, because foresters have set up their own "cableway" with which they bring trees to the valley... the sight is far from pleasant... And they know how to annoy well, I know at least 2 cases when people returned to cars and around logs set so you're "trapped"... don't know if it's just coincidence but more pointless messing around...

What do you want to say? Doesn't it seem stupid to you that on both sides of the road there's about 10 meters space, on one side car on the other nothing and then they put one log in front of the car, one next to the car and one behind the car?

They blocked us too on Thursday with logs. Good that I ended up at the inn "pri Jurju" and the friendly owner drove me back for the car. Since foresters eat there he had connections and they unblocked the car right away. Really thanks Jurju.!!!! My opinion is that they should put a sign some 200m before and warn they're loading wood and all would be nice and proper. I'd leave the car lower. BTW "Angie" great pics, do you use wide-angle lens? Best.
