I'm curious about the conditions on the path from Češka koča to Jezersko kočno and to Grintovec and down to Cojzova koča at Kokrsko sedlo. Is the path dry, how about the more dangerous sections? Heading out next week - around 1.7.

Judging by the photos I got from a friend who was today on the path from Češka koča to Grintavec and back over Mlinarsko sedlo, I can say conditions are wintery, new snow and ice...some fixed protections still under snow. Basically winter idyll in midsummer. Ice axe needed.

This morning my boyfriend and I headed towards Grintovec from Suhadolnik (Kokra). Via Taško there's a demanding path that's crumbly and maybe even a helmet wouldn't hurt. Otherwise the path is very nice. At Kokrsko sedlo there was wind and cloudiness formed under Grintovec which then cleared. Towards the summit and on it just some snow left. Cold on top, views were decent. We returned via path to Kokrško Kočno over Spodnje Dolce, which is less visited. Then continued down the demanding path through Hudi graben to the path joining to Cojzova koča. To Suhadolnik via old path and to car in one hour. Very nice and strenuous all-day tour

Our hiking club was also on Grintovec this weekend and it was really great, good weather despite forecasts, lots of people, only thing missing was the view from the top. Namely, at the moment of arriving at the summit, there was fog on top.
Klavdy6, I even think I noticed you two, did you pass by Cojzova koča around 11:40 on Sunday - without stopping?

At 11:40 we were at the summit, but we didn't return past Cojzova koča so it's unlikely you noticed us. Best regards

Today we had a start for Grintovec...departure from Žagana peč...the whole day was mostly nice weather a bit of sun a bit of fog...then the assault on Grintovec followed, and a quick descent because it suddenly clouded over, started thundering, raining...there was even a bit of hail in between...on slippery rocks we managed to reach Cojzova koča, where quite a few of us gathered, and we all huddled and dried in front of the stove...after an hour the storm passed and we went back...the path is otherwise without features, no snow on the path to the saddle and further to Grintovec! ... LP ALL

Someone forgot poles above the cable car in Konec, I hung them on a tree, too bad I didn't leave them in the hut in Kamniška Bistrica.
Worth checking if they haven't grown legs yet.
Rain caught us too, so we headed to the bivouac under Skuta
The path from Grintovec, Mlinarsko sedlo, Dolgi hrbet, Skuta to bivouac under Skuta is also
passable.

Yesterday at 5:15 we headed up the Frischauf path to Grintovec.
On this path there are two snowfields. The first is easy, just need to kick steps with boots a bit, the second is still very dangerous because it's much steeper than the first. Good that I had my "little" crampons with me, behind us there was someone with an ice axe and so I made steps with the help of ice axe and crampons so that we went and those behind us could go quite safely across. Seems to me we were the first this morning, because there were no fresh footprints visible, only melted ones, I assume from the previous day. From Grintovec we then went to Jezersko Kočna, where there are also two snowfields to cross, which with great caution (and due to the sun-exposed snow) don't pose a major obstacle.

With my girl we were there on Saturday. Start and finish in Konec. The eternal dilemma with too early getting up took care this time too that the sun was scorching us already from the start. Lots of people on the whole path. A couple of snow patches are like a find for "summer" winter pleasures.
Walking time was as per instructions. Up 4h down 3h.

Yesterday I headed to Grintovec from Konec. Start at 5:30 towards Kokrsko sedlo. The path is quite steep, but given the early hour it didn't bother me. I decided to climb to Grintovec via Dolc and Dolška škrbina, and then via the Špremova path to the summit. To the top I needed 4 hours, but the path was really strenuous, as it leads mostly over scree and very unpleasant gravel to Dolška škrbina. From the top of the notch follows a fairly demanding ridge path towards the NW wall of Grintovec, then some easier climbing to the summit itself. After a break, I descended via Streha to Cojzova koča and with the help of a cold hoppy drink after three hours of descent arrived at the car. In summary, very strenuous path, but I think it would be less strenuous in the opposite direction. LP

No snow on top of Storžič, Grintovec is in fog and not visible.

Dear M, nice that you visited Grintovec. You know, runners are real masters. The run is only up but one needs to get to Kamniška Bistrica too. If you want to see runners live, come on 5 September to Velika Planina where there will be World Championship in mountain runs. Come and see.
