Hi 100jan, I'm interested in the conditions on the passage over Jurejevec (between Mali vratci and the bivouac under Grintavec), because I'd like to repeat your Skuta-Grintovec tour.

Milan went alone, but since he didn't complain at all it's surely good. Today on Rinkah and Turski he rated the conditions as ideal. But take it with a grain of salt, because nothing is hard for him

Hi 100jan, yesterday I met Milan on Koroška Rinka. Really nothing is hard for him and the conditions are really very close to ideal.

Hi, prepolc80. Yes, conditions ideal for polar bears, which raises the value of an already beautiful, long and strenuous tour even more. Well done, and the photos tell the story vividly.

On Sunday we were at the top of Grintovca. No track. Conditions to Koroško sedlo variable. Sinking into pršič (15-20 cm) which is not bonded to the base. Below Kokršim s. conditions better, we went further with crampons. There was very strong wind at the saddle and quite cold. On the approach (Zgornje jame) to the gully it sinks and is quite dry in the middle. Gully "Čez jame" completely filled. Along the ridge to the top windblown and not enough snow for skiing. We descended via VN and made a track. Sorry for bad Slovenian!

IvaK, don't worry about Slovenian, the description of conditions matters. Nice tour, hats off.

The track through the forest under Kokrsko sedlo has been made (V Koncu), from the end of the forest edge there are some pršič drifts here and there, likewise on the path to Grintovec where I turned back to the valley due to a larger drift on the steep slope a bit before the lower caves because of inexperience in such soft snow Further from that spot the path looked quite solid. Someone overtook me at the bench and went to the top over the caves. From afar it looked like he had no problems.

Has anyone gone to Grintovec after the last snowfall? What are the conditions like?

I'll set off on Sunday early morning. I hope to start from Kamniška Bistrica at 3 a.m., because they forecast snowfall.

This time my buddy and I decided to do a winter ascent to the highest peak of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps via the roof, as we suspected the conditions for the ascent today would be quite favorable. According to yesterday's weather forecast that it would clear up in the morning, it didn't happen today. A little above Kokrsko sedlo the summit started to wrap in fog, light snowing began... then a bit below the summit, around 2300m, conditions got worse... thick fog-heavy snowfall, so we decided to turn back to the valley..... Snow starts somewhere at the bench below K. sedlo, higher up there's more of it and it was quite hard in the morning, so it's sensible to put on crampons here, which are definitely mandatory from the saddle onwards..

I was looking at Grintovec and KSA from the other side, from Košuta, and it really looked bad, in fog non-stop. Even in the afternoon it looked like there was a snowstorm around Kočen and Grintovec

"Grinta?" The KSA champion deserves at least a little respect.

Haven't you two heard of partisan names? They awarded them only to the best..

Since when do mountains have partisan names?! Cut the crap.

I join panda's opinion. Towards the mountain one must have a respectful attitude, even if the access is among the easier ones. We visit the mountains and not they us, so respect is not superfluous.

I agree with lijaneja... You've taken the thing or word Grinta like kids watching Smurfs... Regards, Thanks for the nice photos lijaneja, if I'd known I'd have joined. Good luck
