My roots are Carinthian and I'm very proud of it. You know that one: "Korošci smo zmerom za mušter bili,...". But if these roots are white, brown, blue, green or whatever, I don't care at all and don't worry about it.

What are the conditions to Grintovec from Žagane peči? Avalanche level is allegedly one. Is there still a lot of snow up there, is the path trodden (I know, ice axe and crampons mandatory)? Any peculiarities?

Who has been to Grintovec these days? What are the conditions like, path, anything special? Asking the same as the previous one, who got a ''delightful'' answer though, but not about the conditions.

Grintovec was a very good choice today, conditions ideal. Parking near Žagane peči, snow starts from the bench onwards, just compact enough to reach Grintovec summit even without crampons - depends on the individual. At the summit wonderful sunny day spoiled by cold wind, so no one liked staying long. But on the way back in the basin above K.saddle we had some fun and rested in the sun without wind. Crampons necessary for descent from Grintovec. Quite a few visitors today.

Today at 2 a.m. start from the end for viewing the sunrise on Grintovec. A few minutes before 6 on the summit but since it was in fog I moved the viewing spot a few hundred meters lower. Weather super, just blowing like crazy.

No problem, it's all nicely trodden to the summit, you just need crampons and an ice axe. Start at the cableway to Kokrško sedlo. But with the big thaw, maybe you won't need crampons at all except for the descent. I wish you a nice and pleasant day and safe steps in the mountains.
