We give you funny answers, because the question is silly. We can't know from which side you mean, otherwise whichever side you go from, it's normal like in summer, since there's no snow already in Kamniška Bistrica.

Vetrc, judging by your question I guess you're not too sure where you're going? As Redbull answered, you didn't write from which side you're coming from? There are more options! One of the better marked ones is parking at the hut in Kamniška Bistrica and over Kokrško sedlo, also over Suhadolnik isn't much worse, all others mostly have signs under snow. Otherwise this website nicely lists all starting point descriptions and car accesses and if you have Garmin just enter starting point coordinates and that's it, otherwise stick to my first suggestion - parking in Kamniška Bistrica which is safest. . Currently all accesses to starting points are dry and drivable - for now! Only the starting point from cargo cableway to Kokrško sedlo requires vehicle with not too low ground clearance, no need for off-roader!

Guys above, have you checked "vetrca"'s age? If so, you wouldn't mock him, at least show some respect to us older ones, you will be too someday if you make it. I think he asked a correct question, answer could be to hut in KB or to cargo cableway, but to there I think driving is prohibited?!

if there was something wrong with driving to cargo cableway, then there wouldn't be around 20 cars up there on nice weekends

matjaz1 was joking a bit, which isn't nice. Vetrc really didn't specify from which side he'd go, but he could have gotten a serious answer (I only have good experiences on hribi.net). And also - at 64 you can still hike a lot, the question is how the youngsters who fly over mountains at 25-30 will look at that age.

You're really sweethearts! Thanks for the answers, I really didn't write from which side, but I meant from KB, logical, otherwise I wouldn't ask; otherwise vetrc is almost 70, and was on New Year's 11/12 at 00:00 alone on Grintovec summit, etc. etc., best regards to all!

Vetrc, gotta praise you, real tough guy!!! Keep going like that for many years and especially carefully. No more ban on parking higher than the hut in KB because they removed it, so the variant from the cargo cableway to Kokrško sedlo fully OK, if your car isn't too low, no need for an SUV.

@Smatjaž, agree, mentioned road is in relatively good condition and I drove it recently with Hyundai Coupe, didn't scrape anywhere, sure it's a bit lower than most common cars like Clio, Golf or Passat.

Hi. Does anyone have information about conditions on Očak KSA from K. Bistrica? Is winter gear necessary? Thanks and have a nice sunny weekend!

Yesterday my colleague and I were up there. We didn't need winter gear. The snow was soft, but on descent it sank quite a bit. It was a beautiful day though . Good luck, best.

Today I visited Grintovec from the Suhadolnik side up. I started right at the first official crag, which lengthens the tour by about 20 min. Through Taško the path is nicely passable and shortens the path by 15 min. Already well warmed up from the chains, I charged into the last snowy slope towards Cojzova hut. The snow was refrozen and reworked in the morning and mostly held the hiker. On Streha Grintovca the snow, still 20-40 cm, much more in drifts, had crusted and, together with the combination of sun towards the summit, took quite some strength from the hikers. During the day as many as a small busload hiked to the top . Weather already kitsch-perfect, warm, but after the momentary covering by an isolated cloud, it suddenly cooled considerably. On the descent we did some controlled sliding. There were also many deep postholes on the path, which additionally tired the descent, likewise below Cojzova to the west, where there is still plenty of snow. Nice tour before the long-lasting weather worsening. Lp!

On Saturday 15.11.2014 we didn't quite pick the right tour to Grintovec. We started at 6:30 in light snowfall that persisted the whole tour. At the saddle wind joined the snowfall, fog became denser with altitude. At about 2400 m the combination of snowfall and low temperatures made the path icy. On the summit section there was some light snow. Due to the wind we returned quickly, almost without stopping, soaked and chilled to the car.

Primož, I don't understand what I should learn from this. I just wanted to report the path conditions. The weather forecast for the weekend was totally off.

I believe redbull... But elevation meters will still be useful this winter anyway, which counts for something, which was also the main goal of this tour
