Even at an old age one day...night hike from Kamniška to Grintovec...lower part of the path through the forest is a bit "powdery", higher up inversion did its thing and the path is bare and dry. Right at the top (cca 200m) still frozen snow.
From pics this is all that "succeeded"... ...but live it was so much nicer...
P.S. Yes, with small crampons (chain L.) I got up and down quite comfortably, but everyone knows what and how for themselves and everyone decides for themselves.

Up to Cojzova hut there's quite some snow on the path, higher up mostly blown off. We managed to find some in the gully through Jame. More in the pics.

On Saturday to Grintovec. Start at the hut in Kamniška Bistrica, shortcut to the road, Žagane peči then to the lower station of the cargo cableway in Konec, ascent to Kokrsko saddle and over Streha to the summit. Return the same way. Road to first parking is gritted, further just packed snow base, 4 cars also above Žagane peči. I sought extra elevation and nice snow walk so car stayed at big parking below hut. Conditions to Kokrsko saddle snowy and hellishly hot to end of forest, then path via nice snow steps in the middle of scree direct to saddle. Locally a bit icy upper part. Saddle bare - blown. From saddle to Spodnja jama alternating bare, same further. Last part icy like in December, just a bit shorter. Possible with microspikes but better touring crampons, esp. for descent, same for descent from Kokrsko saddle to Konec. Weather - gorgeous, sun, warm, almost no wind at top and nice views. Lots of visitors thanks to southern neighbors (trainees). Conditions will change soon.

Dear!
Is it possible in the current conditions to Grintovec without crampons and ice axe? Or what are your recommendations?
Planned route: Spring of Kamniška Bistrica, past the cable car station to the saddle and over the Streha to the summit.
We're going on Saturday.

Robi: it's winter, snow, the snowy roof has already taken many lives. Zero isotherm will be on Saturday around 1300 meters. Even if there's a track made in powder snow you never know if maybe icy underneath. In such conditions it's sensible to take ice axe and crampons.

A couple of centimeters of new snow, conditions for walking were really excellent this morning, but the forenoon already had quite a thaw.

26.02.17 Grintovec via Jame
The road is normally drivable, so I left the car as usual at Žagani Peči. The path to Cojzova hut was already trodden from the previous day, but only by one hiker. At Jame we put on crampons although not yet needed and headed to the central gully. There were quite a few collapses but no major issues. Hellish heat and day for gods. A gentleman a bit behind us trampled also the normal route over the roof. Snow as expected not so much as maybe seen from the highway (roof).
